About this cottage rental
TI KAZ AN NOU: Cottage on the leeward coast that can accommodate, 2, 4 or 5 people.
Magnificent gite located on a hill at 50m above sea level, well ventilated. Quiet, 5 minutes' walk from Leroux beach, a real gem, especially under the setting sun where you may have the chance to observe the furtive "Green Ray". Shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
We are located just 5 km from the typical village of Deshaies with its famous botanical garden, its fishing port and the Grande Anse beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Basse-Terre, surrounded by coconut trees and where you can discover traditional and inexpensive cuisine in the “lolos”.
Our Cottage, comfortably equipped and decorated, is welcoming and warm.
The fully equipped kitchen opens onto a 57 m2 terrace which also allows you to have lunch or relax outside facing the Caribbean Sea with the island of Montserrat on the horizon. Its 2 bedrooms (with 1 beds of 160 and 1 bed of 180) both give onto the terrace; one of them overlooks the sea, the other overlooks the mountain. Its mezzanine includes 1 single bed, 1 living room with television and a desk. We can accommodate 2, 4 to 5 people. The bathroom has a spacious shower, the toilets are independent.
Household linen is provided (sheets, towels, tea towels, table napkins), WiFi, air conditioning, fans, washing machine, safe.
The planter will wait for you from the 1st evening as well as fruit and breakfast the next day. You will therefore be ready to discover this magnificent island which offers many activities; hiking, diving, Soufriere, Carbet falls, cocoa house ... and of course the numerous rum distilleries on the island ... And why not a getaway to Les Saintes and Marie Galante?
We propose to put you in contact with a car rental company. For your information, plane arrivals are in the afternoon and depending on the season, it is dark from 5.30 p.m. or 6.30 p.m. A precise airport rental itinerary will be sent to you.
You can take advantage of the direct sale of fresh fish by local fishermen in the port of Baillargent (municipality of Pointe Noire) 5 minutes from the Gîte. A display rack is also at your disposal where you will find all the "good plans" from our experience on the island.
We want to come back to the discovery of the seabed: in fins-mask-snorkel (PMT) you will already discover a wide variety of corals, multicolored fish and turtles (be careful, do not touch anything to avoid any risk of sting, bite or burn…). The Cousteau reserve located in Malendure (20 min from the house) offers a magnificent spectacle. You can also dive from the centers near the Gîte; "Piton Plongée" in Deshaies with Balou, "Baillantes Tortues" at the port of Baillargent with Cor and Chantal. We discovered diving in Guadeloupe ourselves… and are now addicted!
One last piece of advice: take the crossing route to reach Grande Terre and discover exceptional lush vegetation…

Very nice apt which was spotless and well stocked with dishes,pots etc . Good location close to Deshaises, the Botanical Garden, many of the beaches and restaurants . Most of the residents, shops and restaurants only speak French and the driving was difficult for us coming from the flat land of Florida , USA.Sylvie was very responsive to questions or inquiries.

My overall impression of this property was 'spot on' with the listing. Even better, actually. The apartment was very clean when we arrived. The air conditioned bedroom and bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, including some spices. The apartment is very private at the end of a road. No houses past this. Only the chickens to walk around the yard.
The view from the porch is breathtaking!!! We had a couple of most impressive sunsets. We spent most of our time on the porch because it is so very nice.
Sylvie is an excellent host. When we arrived, there was a planter of food for us!! So very nice after a long day of travel.
We enjoyed a number of beaches all within a 30-40 minute drive. We truly enjoyed the Jardin Botanique de Deshaies. We hiked Cascade aux Ecrevisses and Mamelle de Petit-Bourg. Oh, yes, and sat in the hot water at Thermes de Thomas, Bouillante.
And we highly recommend a snorkel down at Reserve Cousteau, Malendure Beach.
Leroux Beach, which is within a few minutes drive downhill, is also a very sweet beach.
All said, we enjoyed our stay very very much. We would love to return and stay at Sylvie's place again!!
