DAR DO bright Berber house with pool and garden

Perfect holiday! Beautiful house - lots of space and beautifully designed. The swimming pool was an absolute delight and the tortoises in the garden were a hit with everyone. To top it all, Said and Samira’s warmth and helpfulness was second to none. Samira cooked us some fantastic meals that made the holiday so special. We would highly recommend and would love to return.

We all really enjoyed our winter break in Dar Do. The property had a traditional Moroccan feel, inc the decor, rooms off the courtyard and plenty of space if you wanted to have some alone time. Said was perfect and was immediately available if we needed anything. We'd also recommend his wife's tagine, which was delicious. All in all would definitely recommend.

Prior to booking the owners were extremely responsive and flexible when we had to change our dates. They were also eager to help us set things up such as airport transfer, car rental upon our arrival and offering a baby bed. Once we were on site, we received a warm welcome from Saïd and Samira Who are amazing through our entire stay. Samira cooked the most delicious meals and was flexible when we had specific requests and then the days that we didn’t give any direction was eager to make something new. Saïd helped organise everything and anything that we requested whether it was a quick run to the grocery store or henna tattoos - he was always eager to help with a smile. The garden and pool is stunning and the house very comfortable. The only note that I would make is the layout is perhaps not the best for a family with young children as rooms are a bit far from each other so younger families may not be as comfortable with the layout. For friends, multiple couples or families with older children I highly recommend!!!

My partner and I visited Villa Dar Do the other week after a week of driving around Morocco taking in the various and amazing sights and endless landscapes. After continuous days of driving and adventure, Villa Dar Do was a much welcomed oasis of peace and rest. As there were only 2 of us, the space was more than adequate, but this would be perfect for a large group or family, and there are lots of various outdoor terraces and courtyards where you can get your privacy even with large numbers. I think this is the most beautifully decorated home we have visited on holiday (we have used Home Away/Owners Direct lots of times before), and its clear this is a home rather than a holiday place. You might not spend much time indoors in Morocco, but so much care and love has been taken in the house, both inside and out, and it really was a lovely place to stay- a real home. The house is very well equipped, clean and comfortable- w/ modern TV with HDMI (a bonus for movie night), perculator and juicer aswell (Tip: oranges are cheap and grow in abundance, so take advantage of making your own fresh orange juice!) We spent most of our time in the garden, which is so well kept, and to my delight, resident tortoises! Said, the housekeeper, took such good care of use while we were there, showing us where the house is (down an easily accessible track, but easy to find), and also inviting us to see various local souks and checking everything was ok throughout our stay. If we needed anything it was good to know he was there. It was quite difficult to communicate for us, mainly because our French is terrible (sorry!) so some basic phrases would be useful for you throughout your trip to Morocco. We loved the house so much, we spent most of our time there by the pool, with the tortoises, eating our BBQs, but we made a day trip to Essaouira (10 mins drive away and great if you Kite Surf)- also lovely, and less intense than Marrakech. Would have like to spent a little longer there, as it was great for shopping. There is also, if needed, a Carrefour there, so you can buy your wine, beer and home comforts. The only tiny tiny negative thing I would say, and very very minor, is that the meeting point is quite vague for a tourist, and found a better meeting point at a petrol station (to be guided to the house)- big bold letters, much easier to see. Saying that, we never got lost and our stay was perfect! Thankyou so much for having us at your beautiful home! Jodie & James
