The Normans Apartments

This very comfortable apartment was in easy walking distance to the main sights, with a well‑equipped but compact kitchen, a large dining area, and a nice bathroom. The metal grate stairs to the bedroom were a bit uncomfortable barefoot and slightly awkward, but the overall space was spacious and pleasant. The bed was comfortable, the layout worked well, and while there was some weekend noise from the busy corner outside, it was expected for the location.

Noisy air condition in a bedroom

The location was fantastic, close to the cathedral and other historical sights and near the pedestrian streets teeming with bars and restaurants. The accommodation was really comfortable and homey. The kitchen was very well stocked with crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment and cooking utensils and a full size fridge. The living area downstairs was spacious and had a solid dining room table with four chairs, as well as a couch and a bookshelf thoughtfully containing some novels in different languages, maps of Palermo and information on various cultural attractions.The most superb feature was the double window/ doors in the lounge room which had a direct view of the royal palace and overlooked the palm trees growing in the Piazza. The bedroom upstairs was a decent size with a large double wardrobe and lovely plump pillows on the bed. The host, Guilia was very welcoming.

The shower was a bit of a tight squeeze even for a small person. Everything else was perfect.

problems with electricity- there was a power surge the night we arrived while I was showering my 5yo. called the owner and apparently to fix it I needed to go to the entrance of the building (2 floors down). I think we are not the first ones it happened to - because they mention it on the “welcome” paper they left us. also - the bathroom is really dark. only one small light. and last thing - the stairs are really uncomfortable on the feet - if you are barefoot or only with your socks on - the feeling is horrible.
