THE PROPERTY
The landscape surrounding the little hamlet of Gavignano is completely quiet and unspoiled, making a perfect setting for a country holiday, ideal for gentle walks and picnics. The towers of S. Gimignano are just visible across the valley. Podere OLiveta which translates as 'Olive grove Farm' consists of 5 different apartments which enjoy a pretty location up in the hills. Podere Oliveta is located in a certified carbon neutral area that means no air pollution . Each apartment has its own independent entrance and own garden area with barbecue. Much careful thought has gone into decoration, furnishing and ensuring the apartments are equipped down to the last detail. There is a swimming pool surrounded by a sun terrace which has stunning views overlooking the rolling olive clad hills, the sprinkling of cypresses trees and the majestic towers of S. Gimignano in the distance. Local wine and olive oil can be bought nearby.
Podere Oliveta is a good choice for exploring central Tuscany. The main attractions of the region can be reached very easily. The highway which connects Florence to Siena is only 3 km distant. And the villa's location only 3 km from the railway station of Poggibonsi is a good base to visit Florence and Siena even without a car: You can park your car in Poggibonsi (free parking behind the railway station) and take the train in both directions. During the week, trains to Florence/Siena and back go regularly (approx. every 1. hour). The train ride takes about 30 minutes to Siena and 1. hour to Florence. In Florence the train will take you to the main train station which is right in the centre of Florence - it is just a short walk from the station 'Santa Maria Novella' to the Cathedral or the Uffizi. In Siena the railway station is located approx. 1 km from centre, and you may have to take a bus to reach the old town on top of the hill or take the escalator.

THE APARTMENT
Looking out over the valley towards the skyline of S.Gimignano,RONDINE is approached by an outside stone staircase at the side of the house. A little hallway opens into the double bedroom with pretty prints and good traditional furniture, (the keynote is green); and into a good shower room. The attractive living room, with its efficient kitchen corner, has a view over the valley. The garden is provided with garden furniture and its own barbecue.

Rondine is a lovely apartment perfectly situated for touring central Tuscany! Even the drive up to the complex takes you thru a little medieval village with a Roman church built in 998ad! The grounds are beautiful and the pool is refreshing! Each apartment has a private garden sitting area with a table and chairs and outdoor cooking chimney which is lovely! We even had sun loungers! The apartment has everything one needs…except for plastic cups to take drinks to the pool. (There had to be something wrong!). We stayed her for 11 days and would return again given the opportunity.We also enjoyed the owner and his input and insights into the area.Note: The photo for Rondine does show what appears to be a balcony seating . This actually is the entry landing that has been suited with a fold down table and chairs. This is a nice addition to the private garden seating area.That said: Rondine is close to everything needed. 5min to groceries, gas, restaurants and shopping as well as the easy access to routes needed for visiting Tuscany!

Spotless unit with a panoramic view nestled amongst olive groves with all the necessities for a relaxing country stay. Minutes away from Chianti vineyards and wineries by car. If so inclined, you can make the 30 minute walk to Poggibonsi for coffee and pastries or to buy a traditional beefsteak Florentine that you can grill back at the property on the unit's outdoor grill. Fabio and Maria are the most pleasent host and hostest.

J'ai été dans l'appartement Rondine avec ma compagne, nous avons passé un agréable séjour, le propriétaire nous a accueillis de la meilleure des manières, c'était également un plaisir de manger sur la terrasse, ou dans le jardin, en profitant pleinement du soleil

Total peace and quiet in the middle of beautiful Tuscany. Fabio was a font of local knowledge, very helpful. The apartment was very well appointed with everything we could need for our stay and beautifully decorated with Tuscan charm. The grounds and pool were very well maintained and so peaceful (we had the pool to ourselves most days as everyone was off seeing the sights). This place is perfectly situated between Sienna and Florence and only 10 minutes by car to gorgeous San Gimignano (you can see its famous towers from the pool area). The only downside is that there is nowhere locally that you can walk to for a drink or meal, however you cant have everything and having a short drive is a small price to pay for such peace! We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back - Thank you Fabio and Anne-Marie for your hospitality x
