Large and beautiful property in the woods with 15m heated swimming pool

We had a fabulous stay at Cyril and Alexandra's stunning property in Montdurausse. The house is beautifully presented, extremely well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms are all lovely - we (the parents) would have been happy to sleep in any of them, and the beds are comfortable and large. We enjoyed the outside space and took advantage of the outdoor cooking facilities most days. The swimming pool is undoubtedly the best we have experienced in many years of renting holiday properties abroad and there are plenty of options to grab some shade when needed. The property is in a nice quiet location just a short drive from Monclar de Quercy where there is a Carrefour Contact (decent size but not huge), boulangerie/patisserie etc. Many other beautiful towns and villages are within easy driving distance from the house. We were very sad to leave but would love to return to this property at some point and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for something special.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful large property in an unspoilt area of France. We were 2 adults and 3 teenagers, ages 15, 17 and 18, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The photos do not do it justice! The house is much larger than it appears, with plenty of comfortable seating areas both inside and out, and immaculately clean. The main living space is enormous with very comfortable sofas, a large TV, an enormous dining table and even a bar with comfortable bar bar stools where we played cards and games on several occasions. Adjacent to this is another comfortable seating area - you never feel you are on top of one another. The kitchen is large with another table seating 6-8 and is extremely well stocked with every cooking device, plenty of crockery & cutlery, loads of pots and pans, and a fantastic gas cooker. The laundry room has a huge front-loading washing machine. Outside there is a fabulous, large, oxygenated pool (it was so nice not to have chlorine stinging our eyes) and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs. Close to the house is a large dining table under a pergola with a 'plancha' and a two-ring gas cooker where we cooked dinner every night. The bedrooms were spacious and stylish with comfortable beds. The weather was very hot during our stay (35-40 degrees) but the house stays beautifully cool with the blinds closed. Cyril and Alexandra are extremely nice and responded immediately to questions and helped whenever asked (they even provided a pump for our pool inflatables), but they are also very discreet. We were not at all aware of them in the cottage on the other side of the carport. We've stayed in numerous French villas and I would not hesitate in recommending this lovely property. We stayed in Montdurausse for 2 weeks and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. The outside areas were fantastic with a 15m pool that works on an active oxygen system (it was really lovely not having the chlorine smell around). The pool was cleaned discretely by the owners every morning and this never disturbed us. The pool was great for swimming lengths in as well as messing around on inflatables (it would be worth taking these with you). The plentiful loungers by the pool were comfortable and of good quality. There was also a large shaded area as well as several sun umbrellas which made it a really pleasant area to relax. By the house was a good shaded outdoor seating area with a small hammock (which our boys lived in!) and a gas plancha and outdoor hob (which my husband loved cooking on). There was a decent washing line and two car ports as well as a large drive area for parking. There was also a set of swings and a goal net for children. The garden had some attractive pots and plants. Sitting by the pool we were often struck by the complete peacefulness and quiet of the area. The house itself was cool, very clean and well equipped. There was a great selection of indoor games: board games, chess, solitaire as well as a Wii. The children commented on the particularly comfortable sofas as well as the large TV! The kitchen had everything you would expect and more...large fridge, large freezer, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, lots of plates, glasses, cutlery etc The two bathrooms were both downstairs which took a bit of getting used to but there was a toilet upstairs with the bedrooms so this didn't cause us any problems. The bedrooms were all beautifully decorated, with blackout blinds (amazing!) and super quiet fans for the hot nights. Windows were also double glazed and all the bedrooms had nets on the windows so you could sleep with the windows open without any unwelcome flying visitors! Beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. There was a well stocked gym with various equipment (managed to go on the running machine once!) and a table foosball which we all enjoyed playing on. Everything was of good quality; I'm not sure the photos do the inside of the house justice. Finally Alexandra and Cyril the owners were living in a gite next door but we hardly saw them. They were very warm, welcoming and informative and responded very quickly to any texts that we sent them. We have stayed in many different houses in France and this was the best.
