We had a wonderful stay at Lucignanello. The house is charming, rustic and spacious, with complete privacy and beautiful views. The main part of the house has a large commercial kitchen, a large dining room and seating areas, as well as a bathroom and laundry room. It is a perfect gathering place for meals, games, and conversations, while still having the private bedroom and bathroom spaces. Water pressure was good, showers were hot, and the beds were comfortable, although some rooms were a bit dark. The location is ideal for visiting beautiful Pienza (5 min. away) and the other small villages in the area, as well as for making day trips to towns a bit further away. The first time driving up to the house is a bit challenging on the winding gravel rutted road, but follow Alessandro's directions and come during daylight, and you will not have a problem. Alessandro and his family are delightful. He met us when we arrived to show us around the property and to explain some of the history and design of the house. Although he speaks Italian and we do not, we were able to understand the information we needed and he and his wife were always prompt and thorough with any written communication. We appreciated the wine and breakfast items that were provided on arrival, as well as the bedding and towel change during the week. The in-house cooking class with Gabriele and Federica was one of the highlights of our trip. We hope to return and next time stay a month in this heavenly spot!

The VRBO was great! The rooms were clean and the bathrooms had good water pressure, and the water was hot. Lots of towels were provided, and the sheets were changed midway through our trip. The house was exactly as shown in the pictures, with a view of Pienza in the distance. Alessandro was amazing! He checked in with us every day to ensure we had what we needed and he was very responsive to questions through the VRBO app. He also provided several restaurant and winery recommendations in the area. He also arranged a cooking class for us on the last night that was amazing - three courses, including wine, at the property. Of special note. The home is in the country, accessible by gravel roads. To ensure you find the property, make sure to follow Alessandro's instructions that he sends through the VRBO app. Don't rely on the map within the app. If you want a lovely, quiet home 10 minutes outside of Pienza then I would recommend this rental.

We had an amazing stay at Alessandro's villa mid September, 2024. We were there with dear friends and had a relaxing and memorable time. The villa was stunningly beautiful, very historic, clean and extremely comfortable. Alessandro has worked to maintain the ancient historic integrity of the renovated monastery and his work has created a unique and awe inspiring feel. The villa has a large fully equipped kitchen which was important to us. Alessandro arranged a cooking class with a local woman and her daughter and we made pasta, chianina stew and tiramisu. Very fun and recommended. The property had amazing views, sunset, sunrise and one day a full rainbow. The villa and courtyard were the perfect place to relax and enjoy the local wines, of which there were many. The landscape and views of Pienza and the surrounding area were breathtaking. We were able to visit nearby areas of Montapulciano, Montalcino, San Gimignano and spent one day at the local thermal springs. Alessandro is a gentleman. He was always there if we needed him, but not obtrusive. He is a premier host. We hope to return one day.
