The Cours de Cotignac (10 min - 8 km)
"It is nicknamed the Champs-Elysees of Provence Verte, the vital axis of the village. On both sides are restaurants and cafe terraces. In the background, the tuff cliffs dominate you with all their grandeur. While climbing in the top of the village, think to visit the dwellings Troglodytes "

The exits:

- the lock (10 min - 7.5 km)
Just before arriving at the village, if we take the small road on the left, we will meander along the bank of the Argens to the lock. Summer is the point of arrival for canoe trips. If we continue we will appreciate the vineyards and olive groves that will mark this 6 km trail leading to Correns.

- The harvest festival
Every 3rd weekend of August, this celebration takes place around the vineyard and wine. Mass, procession to the sound of the fifes and tambourines, folkloric parade or young and old dress in traditional costumes, bravadeurs "fart" their blunderbusses, revive the village in the colors of yesteryear. Horse-drawn carts and plows, old decorated tractors, take the troops to the vineyards for the first harvest. Then tasting, giant aioli, games of yesteryear and prom are the animation of the rest of the day.

Boat in the Gorges du Verdon (50mn)
At the edge of Provence Verte, glide on the limpid waters of the lower Gorges du Verdon, between the lakes of Esparron and Quinson. A superb course to discover a wild and unspoilt nature along a fresh water corridor of fifteen kilometers surrounded by steep cliffs.

Climbing at Vallon Sourn
Between Correns and Châteauvert, on the banks of the river Argens, Vallon Sourn offers a landscape between beaches and cliffs. It is the favorite place of climbers especially for a climbing site of major interest and world-famous: Les Roches de Bagarèdes. Also try the site of Val Obscur (called "The Hacienda") and finally the site of "La Roquette", more accessible since reserved for beginners and their families.

Fishing at the lake of Carcès (5km)
Largest lake in Provence Verte, a real drinking water tower in the Toulon area, it's a paradise for freshwater fishermen. With an area of 91 hectares, swimming and boating are prohibited. It is also an ideal place for ricochet lovers.
Canoe on the Argens
Slide on the water. Embark aboard your canoe in the shade of lush vegetation to discover the fauna and flora of Provence Verte. Ideal for ricochet lovers. Between Chateauvert and Carcès, sail on the Argens, the only river of the Var (116 km long)
2 nautical bases welcome you and offer circuits adapted to all between Correns and Entrecasteaux. A succession of locks, rapids and gently sloping wilderness.
In the big bath at Vallon des Carmes
The Vallon des Carmes is one of the attractions of the village of Barjols. This waterfall has been used for advertising shootings and is directly accessible from the center of the village. An authentic nugget of preserved nature...

- The beaches
The island of Porquerolles (78min - 79km)
The Pearl of the Golden Islands is located just 10 minutes by boat from the pier on the peninsula of Giens. It is covered on foot or by mountain bike. From the port, we discover the two faces of the island: the wild side with steep cliffs and some coves, then a side beach with fine sand and turquoise waters.
The almanarre, the Mourillon, the Pradet (72min - 72km)
The beach of the almanarre in Hyères is a long strip of sand of nearly 5 kilometers along the salt road. Its fine sand and crystal clear waters make it one of the most pleasant beaches on the Var coast. There are water sports such as windsurfing or kite-surfing. Also enjoy the view of the ancient Salins of Hyères, high place of passage and parking flamingos.
Bormes, the Londe, the Lavandou (78min - 78km)
The beaches of Bormes-les-Mimosas and La Londe les Maures are among the wildest in the Var. Behind the beaches, there is a strip of umbrella pines and prestigious wine estates. Calanques of Cassis (70min - 95km)

Hiking in Provence
The hike in Provence Verte is more than an activity but a real art of living which is practiced especially out of summer season. With a sunshine of more than 300 days per year, it is indeed more conducive to explore the massifs of Sainte Baume, Sainte Victoire, Bessillons and Verdon outside periods of great heat. For your welcome ? no problem. Here, the villages live all year. More than 40 marked and maintained circuits are proposed to you. 27 of them are labeled PR ® by the French Federation of Hiking, a guarantee of quality courses. Elies place was just perfect for our family of four! Pool was very nice and there were everything that we needed in the house. The village had great bakery and nice restaurant and it was easy to do day-trips around Var and even Monaco was quite easily accessible. You definetly need car here, but if driving around is not a problem for you, it is very easy to recommend this house.

Everything was great! Elie is a very welcoming and friendly host, and he could not do enough for us throughout our stay; in fact he went far above and beyond to ensure our daughter was seen by the local doctor for an ear infection. A thoughtful, kind and considerate human being. What more can you ask for?The welcome from Elie was lovely, and the welcome pack was very gratefully received by us and our children. The property itself is immaculately presented, modern, clean throughout, and exactly as it is displayed in the listing. Modern, stylish, with a nod to art deco with the balconies in the 2 upstairs bedrooms. High quality AC throughout. Pool is always the right temperature.Location is perfect with the view over the vineyards and forest, the pool, and excellent use of outside space. Plenty of space for the 4 of us and would easily accommodate 6. A five minute walk from the local café, Boulanger, and supermarket (including very reasonably priced fuel station). And a 2 minute drive to the nearest wine merchant. Decent rosé wine at a good price there. All said and done, the only improvement is ours alone to make, and that's to book it.for 2 weeks instead of 1!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. It was immaculately clean and fitted out with everything you could possibly need including a top quality gas BBQ. While the pool deck can be windy, it is not overlooked and is south facing so you get the sun all day which ensures the water temperature is perfect.  There is an overnight parking lot camping trailers beside the house but it's on lower ground so you don't see it and it was always very quiet. Elie and his wife Manou are lovely and they came by to make sure we were settled in ok.

The location of the villa is perfect for visiting the numerous wineries and villages with wonderful food. The owners are great hosts and very friendly. We loved the welcome wine and treats that were waiting for us. The house was a delight to stay in for the week. It was clean and very nicely decorated. The appliances were perfect for all our needs. Though it was raining the whole time we were there, it wasnt a wash of a vacation. We would be happy to come back and rent this exact villa again. And the pool is even more inviting in person. I look forward to using it next time. Highly recommended! Till next time Provence :)
