About this house rental
Old house located in the Kasbah, one of the oldest parts of Tangier, and completely renovated and decorated by an interior designer with traditional materials and great comfort. Several terraces facing south, with beautiful open views of the city, the large Mandoubia park and the bay of Tangier. A few steps from museums, the souk, markets and shops, and the large bay beach. Quiet area, housekeeping staff and, if you wish, meal preparation (modest supplement), central heating in winter. Three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (shower) and twin beds convertible into double beds. The house is close to a secure paying car park.
Tangier is an exceptional city at the junction of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar. It faces Spain whose coast is only 14 km away and whose lights are visible at night on a clear day.
The sea is omnipresent and brings a beneficial breeze in summer.
Tangier has kept its charm of yesteryear and to come here is to immerse yourself in another world, a world of beauty, kindness and surprises on every street corner.
You have to experience the Souk, which is full of wonders and where it is almost compulsory to barter. Do not miss the magnificent Kasbah museums, the American Legation, its small garden in the souk and its wonderful paintings, the Hafa café with its breathtaking view of the sea and Spain. You have to taste the Moroccan cuisine with its abundance of spices, its fresh fish that you eat with your fingers in the restaurants outside the fishing port. And of course, in summer, the beaches of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic offer their unique sand and waves.

Truly one of the most beautiful houses we’ve ever stayed in. Joelle is a wonderfully helpful and communicative host who made our stay in Tangier unforgettable. The house is gorgeous and clean, with beautiful decor and spectacular views of the city. It’s even nicer than the photos convey, and we would stay again in a heartbeat. Merci Joelle!

We were delighted with the house. It’s charming (lots of stairs though, if that matters). Joelle helped us find a great guide for our trip and the location is great. Especially enjoyed the balcony in the evening

Dar Detroit was an amazing stay right in the kasbah of Tangier. The place was clean, the host was exceptional at communicating and adjusting when we had travel delays. There were things that people should be aware of when booking this property, they are by no means negatives, just things to keep in mind if you want to stay here. There are stairs! Not only in the kasbah but in the home. You are in the heart of the kasbah and it can be noisy all night, and there are prayers at 5 specific times throughout the day that play on loudspeakers! The top room was probably the noisiest but had lovely views. The other two rooms were a little quieter. The home is beautifully decorated with lots of touches from Morocco. This is a home to rent for an immersive cultural experience as you weave your way through the narrow walkways of the kasbah each day to the markets and restaurants. There were things that weren’t what we would find in a typical hotel room and we would not change it for anything! We all truly enjoyed this experience and it was one of the best in our trip.

Avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette charmante maison.La vue depuis la terrasse est magnifique et la lumière particulière à toute heure de la journée. La maison est cependant sur 3 étages et les locataires doivent être en forme pour monter et descendre. A noter également que les rues environnantes sont également escarpées et donc déconseillées aux personnes à mobilité réduite ou avec enfants en bas âge. Nous avons été bien accueillis et renseignés avant notre séjour. Pour ceux qui veulent venir en voiture, il y a un parking gardé à deux pas de la maison, très pratique et peu cher. Le quartier et très vivant et tout à fait approprié aux touristes souhaitant faire leur marché et partager un peu la vie de quartier.
