Guests are welcome to explore the extensive private grounds of the estate, and fishing is available in the river and lakes. While this serene haven is close to nature, it is comfortably appointed with modern conveniences to a high standard.
Chambord and Cheverny are only a 45 minute drive away along quiet country roads where there is a good chance of seeing wildlife such as roe deer, stags and wild boar crossing.. come and see !
The big swimming pool is very nice and you'll like to rest there.

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely setting. Great facilities (tennis, pool, sauna, jacuzzi), outdoor dining, barbecue, next to a river, lovely owners, close to a town that has good food outlets. Very peaceful, plenty of wildlife (deer, foxes, cormorants, kestrels). Very relaxing! Hostess very helpful in every way! Thanks for a very nice stay!

The owner Jeanne-Claire is absolutely lovely and wants everything to be as easy, comfortable and relaxing as possible for her guests. She was so helpful and responsive every time we needed anything and it was a always a pleasure to chat and find out about the chateau and it’s history and the area. She was very sorry that the WiFi wasn’t working during our stay. If WiFi is important to you, it might be worth checking with her first. The cottage is comfortable with a particularly easy and relaxing lliving room downstairs…but best of all is the outside space with view of the small river and bridge and forests beyond. There is a huge table for outside meals…particularly lovely in the evening when the light is pink and sun has set. The grounds of the chateau are lovely … with a couple of small lakes (shallow and not used for fishing when we were there in a hot and dry August) and a shared swimming pool and a fantastic tennis court. And table tennis! The pool cd be busy if both the gite guests and the chateau guests wanted to use it at the same time ….but it was never a problem. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. This is a lovely holiday destination if you want to do very little. The English family holidaying in the chateau when we were there seemed to be out and about all the time (visiting the fabulous castles I think) but we were very lazy and spent our days at the pool and the court. The super market is between 10 and 15 mins. One useful point perhaps that we didn’t see mentioned on the website is that one of the double rooms (with en suite bathroom) is downstairs. That worked out really well for my 90 year old mother. Last thing to mention is Jeanne-Claire has a friend who will can cook and deliver a very nice meal for you. This worked out so much cheaper than going our for a meal and it lasted us for 2 nights!

The gite was as described and in a beautiful setting. It was a super place to relax, the children made the most of the trampoline and we all loved the swimming pool. The town of Romorantin is worth a visit and has everything you need. We didn't do as much as we had planned because of the heat but it is a lovely part of France

We had an absolutely lovely time staying in this wonderful Gite. It is positioned in stunning grounds next to a larger Chateau. There are beautiful woodlands, lakes and a River all on the door step. The property was really clean and had everything you could want. We really enjoyed using the pizza oven and BBQ and watching the deer in the evenings. Lots for the kids to do, nice clean swimming pool, trampoline, table tennis and a tennis court to name a few. It’s a perfect location for a nice quiet getaway with the ability to go and explore the Loire valley and beyond if you so wish. I would hesitate recommending and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and gracious. Thanks you

Beautiful house set within a nice castle, near a small river, with ponds around. We didn’t t leave the place for the week and didn’t t get bored..the kids enjoyed feeding the chicken, fishing in the river, trampolining and there was quite a few games In the house. The house remained fresher in warm weather, it was very comfortable for 9 people. The kitchen as all necessary, lots of plates, glasses, etc..wifi was good. We had a really relaxing time there.

We enjoyed a relaxing week here. The pool is large and perfect for cooling off on hot summer days, and the gite is very peaceful. We enjoyed eating outside, watching the deer running over the meadow across the small river. There is plenty to see in the area with many spectacular chateaux and interesting towns within less than an hour's drive.

Each hour was more pleasant than the last. This is a place to savor and to enjoy being--in the quiet countryside with little but birdsong and breeze to disturb the stillness, by the side of the winding river with views stretching across the fields to into the shady depths of the forest, with paths to walk, ponds to fish, and a comfortable gite on the grounds of the large, rambling old estate.

It is a very nice place, well equipped, good beds/mattrasses and everythink in a good shape. Clean and well maintained. Caretakers live next door and helped whenever need (e.g. new bulb). The garden and surrounding is lovely! We enjoyed the pool every day. The owners are very nice and look lovingly after their place. Only downer: WiFi was not working/was to be fixed. Thanks for the good time - we will definitely come back!

Que dire......... C'était extra!!! un accueil formidable par les propriétaires des lieux, une impression d'arrivée chez des amis de longue date, une décoration très raffinée où tout était prévu pour faire de notre séjour une agréable parenthèse pendant nos vacances. les prestations hôtelières étaient vraiment à la hauteur, les lits faits, les serviettes de toilette très moelleuses et leur couleur coordonnée aux thèmes des différentes chambres. Sur le comptoir de la cuisine, 3 bocaux remplis de douceur, attendaient les petits gourmands (et aussi les grands).Un jolie bouquet de fleurs des champs, cueilli par la maîtresse des lieux, trônait dans un vase sur la table du salon. Beaucoup d'attention de la part de toute la famille de Beauchesne pour nous rendre notre séjour très agréable, toujours disponible pour échanger quelques mot au détour d'une allée. Nous avons tous été d'accord pour revenir le plus rapidement possible afin de profiter encore de cette jolie propriété. Je recommande cette location à tous les amoureux de la nature qui est particulièrement belle en Sologne.

Nous avons passé 3 jours dans cette propriété magnifique. La maison est très joliement meublée, tout confort, et bien équipée. Pour quelques jours l'hiver (pour profiter du grand salon salle à manger et jaccuzi) ou l'été (pour la propriété, les baignades, le barbecue), je recommande fortement ce lieu!

Accueil chaleureux, gite spacieux, très propre et décore avec goût. Idéal pour se retrouver en famille avec enfants. La rivière ou les étangs contenteront les pêcheurs, du débutant au plus passionne. Pour les enfants, l'espace de jeu est nickel : trampoline géant, ping pong ou encore des jeux de société,.. Le barbecue four surprendra les papilles des passionnés de bonne. A recommander pour passer un moment au calme, en famille ou entre amis !
