This recently renovated (2017) and elegant apartment is located in the heart of Uzés, on the Place aux Herbes. The 16th century building was originally built for a prominent family. The staircase is unique in Uzés and makes a lovely entrance to the apartment on the first floor. Inside, the high provençal style ceilings and stunning fireplace mantels set the mood along with the stone floors, tall windows and beautiful decoration. Looking out on the lively square from the living room windows, one can only imagine the history of this enchanting place.
The bedrooms are located in the back of the apartment, on a calm pedestrian street, assuring a good night's rest. Each bedroom has plenty of storage space, comfortable bedding, ensuite bathrooms and blackout curtains.
The apartment has been thoughtfully renovated with all the modern conveniences in order to make your stay luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathrooms are modern and the bedrooms furnished with comfortable beds and pretty antiques. There are personally chosen antiques and furniture throughout the apartment, making your stay even more interesting. There is also laundry area with a washer and dryer.
Wine bars, restaurants and shops are all within a moment's walk. Plus, you will want to wander the lovely pedestrian friendly streets of Uzés to take in the centuries of history on view. Cooking classes, private chefs, vineyard visits, bike rentals and guided tours of Uzés are available. Please contact us for more information.

Absolutely no smoking or pets.
Sheets, towels and a cleaning at the end of your stay are all included.
A portable infant bed and high chair are available upon request.
We suggest arriving on FRIDAY if possible to enjoy the Saturday morning market.

Perfectly located, exquisitely furnished, very comfortable apartment with two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. While the second bedroom and bathroom are perfectly lovely, the master bedroom and bathroom are baronial. The kitchen is better than the kitchen in my home. "Fully equipped" doesn't do it justice. We couldn't look for something--no matter how odd--that we didn't find. The building, as you would expect, is old. There is no elevator. We're in our 70s and found the one flight of stairs a challenge; but younger, healthy people should have no problem. Also, be aware that the apartment is on several "levels"--there are one or two shallow steps almost everywhere, so tread carefully! All things considered, this was the best rental I've had from VRBO.

From the first moment we booked this property every aspect of the process was five star. Dominique, the hostess, provided comprehensive information regarding the property, access and the area. The photographs do not do the property justice. This is a unique apartment in a stunning setting. You feel as if you have stepped through the Looking Glass into an alternate reality. Soaring ceilings with beams, a carefully chosen color palette, furnishings, and accessories, contemporary amenities in a setting that is lively by day and serene and quiet by night, served to create a memorable trip that we will treasure for a lifetime.. Uzés is a medieval gem in an area of stunning beauty and historic significance.

As a avid traveler with nearly 100 countries ticked off the list, I have to say, this apartment was one of, if not the best 5 night stay. The listing was completely accurate and the place better equipped than most homes. The location is authentic as you get in France. Uzes is charming and a bit over priced for m terms of food… but with that kitchen and daily markets feet fromyour door step, gourmets meals and fantastic wine each day.

We were delighted when we arrived to see the quality of the apartment and its condition. Kitchen is a delight because we love to cook. The bedroom and bathrooms were great. We both knew Uzès was lovely having visited the small historic town before. We even had an inkling that the apartments over looking the Place Des Herbes would most likely be special, but this apartment exceeded all expectations. being very grand in a traditional French style with an unbeatable location overlooking the bustling Saturday market. On what was a very special anniversary my wife thought it the best short break she had ever had.

This is a beautifully decorated apartment with lots of elegant amenities. The photos are precisely accurate. Ample space and large rooms. Paid Parking is close by and very safe. Lots of boutiques and cafes all around the square, you will feel like a local. Perfect spot for day tripping and visiting many sites. Would recommend this La Belle Vie 100%

My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful property. It is right in the square of Place aux Herbes. The pictures online are 100% accurate. This place is fantastic. The location is perfect. We stayed the end of January into February. The weather was perfection; sunny and in the 60’s. We were able to participate in the Wednesday and Saturday market- which is just a treat. Be sure to book accordingly. The apartment is charming. Dominique has provided every amenity you could possibly need. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics. The open kitchen/living room and dining room is light and airy. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious. This was such a perfect home away from home. I didn’t want to leave and am plotting my return. The apartment is beautifully decorated. Dominique has a book documented the renovations of the apartment and you can see all the effort that went into the property. Dominique was very responsive at every step of our visit. She is a great host. She left a bottle of wine and espresso- she doesn’t know it but she couldn’t have offered a better host gift! We did get a rental car so we could drive to other locations. You could also take the bus. We just didn’t want to be on anyone’s schedule so we opted for the rental. A car park is very nearby and very reasonable rates. We spent a month in Europe- Uzès and this apartment is our favorite place. I hope to return and will definitely do a month here next time.

My husband and I were travelling with another couple. The apartment was perfect for us with 2 equally good sized ensuited bedrooms. The location was excellent so central and it was a real buzz looking out on the market square of Uzès. The renovated decor is gorgeous, so even when it rained it was a joy to stay inside. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped.

This was the classic French apartment beautifully done and in the very best location, right on the market Place d’ Herbes. Open those windows and hear the markets, the chatter, the people enjoying their meals at lovely restaurants, the children playing, the live music on the square. It reminds me of Neil Diamonds song, “What a Beautiful Noise.” The apartment is very comfortable and well stocked. Thank you Dominique for a beautiful 3 week stay. It will be a memory that will be cherished.

We enjoyed a most wonderful time in Uzes at this palatial apartment. Superbly appointed and decorated. All you need for a relaxing stay. Elegant but cozy. The bedding is gorgeous and comfortable. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. Our companions are superb cooks and were delighted to have everything they needed at their fingertips! The view overlooking the plaza and fountain is a constant photo op. The street cafe dining is delicious and convenient. And to top it off, a Saturday Market moved in, without a sound at 6:00AM, to entertain and temp us all day! Our host, Dominique, was great! She responded quickly to our inquiries when we first made the reservation a couple months ago. She met us promptly at checking and took care of us during our stay. We cannot thank her enough. We really don’t want this secret to get out, because we plan on returning soon!

This appartement is perfect for location. The appartement is just wonderful in almost every way. My suggestions are better bed pillows. Better sofa in living room- it matches decor but for comfort? not so much. Dryer was a big plus for 3 Americaines but didn't work. Request for help got no response. Pas de problème! Radiators and drying rack work well. Love the notebook w information re apt and area. Would absolutely hope to stay again. Merci Dominique!

The location could not be better, 3 big windows facing the charming "Place aux Herbes". The house manager Dominique welcomed us to the apartment. She was very friendly and helpful. I can't imagine a better home base than this apartment for exploring Uzes and the surrounding areas. The home is the perfect combination of 15th century architecture remodeled to a modern day masterpiece. Opening your 2nd story windows to take in the evening cool air and gentle buzz of the Place Aux Herbs was the magical end of every day. We are picky about beds and they were top notch with black out shades to boot. This home makes for a destination location. Our teens felt like princesses and we felt well cared for without a want. One special tip, go to the Pont du Guard about 90 minutes before sunset. We had it to ourselves at one point as we crossed the bridge and only 2 to 4 people on the way back. The energy at PdG at night was so good, you really can take it in when it's so quiet. Again, don't miss that experience. Uzes too is simply charming with a very local buzz. Busy but quaint. Only feedback I'd note is Dominique can be hard to get a hold of at times, so try her husband if you have that experience. He got right back to us. Book it now, search no more, this place goes fast and early we've found as this was our make up trip that was cancelled in 2020 so we watched it fill up.

From the furnishings, to the linens, to the most amazing views onto the Place aux Herbes, this divine apartment is perfect! We have rented many flats and houses in Europe, and this was one of the most beautiful. Only drawback is not of the fault of anyone… the closest parking lot is a few blocks away, and if one has more than a carryon, it is a difficult walk( better to park on the neighboring streets and load or unload) A most magical stay, and we will return!

This is a lovely apartment in a beautiful location. There is much to like about it. Unfortunately our visit did not start out that smoothly. Dominique was unable to to meet us to check us in at the assigned time. There were internet issues due to dated instructions in the apartment information guide. For instance, there were instructions for the land line that could be used to call locally or to us land lines. The phone was there. When we told Dominique it was working, she failed to let us know it was no longer connected. Two days later a huge storm knocked out power leaving us with a non working dryer and no hot water. Luckily Dominique's parents could visit. They were tremendously helpful. The town of Uzes is very charming. The apartment has a few items that keep it from getting an outstanding review: We never met Dominique There are no adequately sized glasses to use to enjoy the lovely wines of the region A make up mirror would be helpful The instructions for the apartment were out of date and inadequate Other than salt, the kitchen had no spices or condiments It would take very little effort to fix these small but annoying issues

This apartment was very tastefully remodeled. We loved being right on the square with windows that opened. Hot water was plentiful, and we apprciated extras like Nespresso and wine. Be sure to use the remote to turn off the air conditioner by pointing it directly at the unit. The water noises are related to the operation of the air conditioner. The town of Uzes and this apartment are both fine choices.

We spent a magical week at this stunning home overlooking the vibrant market square in Uzes. The apartment is even better in person - like a sweet French country fairytale. Not only is the apartment beautiful, it has everything you need to make your stay perfect. My teen children remarked that within putting their bags down they felt immediately at home. The location can't be beat - walking distance to everything. Restaurants and the market right outside your door. (We rented a car and easily parked in underground parking 5 min from the apartment) Uzes is the perfect town to base your stay - a local domaine right in town (and many, many others close by), short drives to Nimes, Avignon and other incredible towns in Provence. We can't wait to return! Thank you for making our vacation so special.!

Lovely place in an idyllic location. Old meets new looking directly down on the fountain and square - amazing! Wonderful place to spend time in Uzés - highly recommend! So nice meeting Rainey (sp?) and chatting about her history there and in the US! WiFi box was out so no internet for a day or TV the whole time - only time we missed it was for the Germany/England soccer match 😞 but we worked it out with our own stuff.

This apartment is perfectly situated on the Place aux Herbes in Uzès, meaning that it is in the pedestrian-only zone. However, it was easy to connect with Domique, who met us in the nearest parking, and led us to the apartment. After that it was easy to find. The apartment is spacious, and could easily accommodate two couples. The kitchen is well-equipped, so that you can eat in if you wish. And, the twice-weekly market is right outside your door, so you may well want to do that. In addition, the trees in the square z with tiny lights right outside your window We found the decor charming with many interesting accessory choices. It’s like living in an 18th century chateau with modern amenities. Can’t say enough good things about the place, and Dominique made our stay especially easy and enjoyable.
