Traditional French house with pool and forest, 30 'away from Paris center by RER

We booked this property for 8 Adults and 5 children. We found on our arrival that the property was dangerous for people staying there. Exposed wires in three rooms, dangerous situations in four areas, building materials and building equipment left in four areas, dangerous chemicals left in three areas. Un-safe conditions in various positions and the kitchen was DIRTY. We did not stay in the property. We contacted the owner direct and told him that we were VERY VERY unsatisfied and we reported this to Vrbo as well, discussing this with Juan by telephone. We will, today be putting a document together with over 100 pictures and numerous videos to illustrate the DUD condition of this property and to request a FULL refund of ALL our monies. We will ask both Vrbo and the owner to consider our request as we COULD not stay at the property in the condition it was in. We were told that a Maid would meet us there, and that did not happen. Emanuelle, the owner, was NOT helpful, saying he was a 1000km away and could not assist us in anyway. This trip was to celebrate Jackie Hoare's 60th birthday with her family and the property was a nightmare. We quickly booked alternative via Arbnb. We would ask Vrbo to look into our situation and help us get our money back, or we will release ALL our images and videos onto social media, as we have two Influencers in our family. I did enjoy our stay due to having all my family around me, not the property as it really wasn’t up to holiday rental. Having 3 children under the age of 5 and a pregnant mum in our party the cleanliness of the whole property really wasn’t what I expected. The kitchen hadn’t been cleaned as the sponge left was dry and full of flies, the floors were dirty and crawling with ants. The oven was dirty and the hob ignition didn’t work. There was no room for any food shopping we had bought as all the cupboards were full of owners purchases. The fridge was dirty and full of food half eaten or open. The front room had what we could only make out bogies stuck on the wall above the sofa and bitten nails at the back of the sofa. The bathrooms were dirty and had hairs in the showers, floors dusty and dirty! All the bedrooms had no room for our personal items as they were overloaded with owners clothes shoes items. (Including teeth in a jar) No curtains available in the upstairs bedrooms so guests woke early with the sun. The towels provided were old and stained and smelt stale. The garden was unusable really due to stacks of branches and trees just left in piles every where. As for the BBQ that was unusable I wouldn’t risk cooking anything on it! Big stake knife left out so kids could play with it! No smoke alarms which was unacceptable. There was no instruction manual for anything so everything we had to work out for ourselves. The property has real potential and could be amazing if some love and attention was put in? It is tired and need of renovation too many things broken in need of repair!. I have many photos to back up the issues.

Lovely 100+ year old house tastefully done with a mix off antique and modern décor. So many beautiful gathering and relaxing spaces both inside and out. So peaceful and quiet! Gorgeous views across the valley. We were there during a heat wave and the pool was a lifesaver after hot days tromping around Paris. Walking distance for food, café and RER line but check the days for market and café, not open every day. If you taxi or Uber out, have the driver take you and your luggage to the top of the steep hill, not just to the bottom of the driveway. Emmanuel was very responsive and helpful!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The swimming pool, bathrooms, beds were all good and thanks to the house we had an amazing vacation. We want to thank you for the house.

Perfectly situated a short walk from the RER station, this house suited us perfectly. The house is very spacious and homely, with a nice garden and pool, and great views. Emmanuel was very quick to respond to any queries that we had and was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Me and four friends stayed at Emmanuel's house while visiting Paris for the Ryder Cup in September 2018. We were delighted with everything - it's a lovely house with lots of character and is perfectly positioned close to the RER to get into Paris centre and also to the golf course where the event was. Emmanuel was a very helpful host and Anna who greeted us was very friendly and full of information. Recommended.
