Located only 100 yards from a life-guarded beach on the Long Island Sound, it is also only 1/2 mile from the center of town, renowned for its historic town green, world class bookstore, art cinema and restaurants. It’s a perfect location to relax and enjoy all that Madison has to offer.
You can easily make day trips to Mystic Seaport, the Yale campus in New Haven, the Thimble Islands, Essex and other Connecticut River Towns, Vineyards and Shopping Outlets. We are located approximately 30 minutes from New Haven and 40 minutes from Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium and Resort Casinos (Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun). Other nearby attractions include Hammonasset State Park, the Goodspeed Opera House and Essex Steam Train. The house on 110 E. Wharf easily accommodated the varied interests of the people in our family. Located a short walk to a sandy beach made it ideal for those looking for a swim or an afternoon sitting on the sand. My son was able to safely take his morning run or go on a bird walk without driving. The house is also within walking distance to the shops on Boston Post Road in downtown Madison, or only a short drive for a nature walk in Hammonasset State Park. The living room features comfortable seating so the whole family can enjoy a movie or TV program on the giant screen. Modern appliances in the well equipped kitchen makes it possible to prepare a fine meal, and enough dishes and seats at the table for our 9 people. The single most popular feature in the house was the outdoor shower.

Great location! Plenty of room for everyone. Very easy in and out. The kids had a great time. Will consider this property again in the future.

My husband and I stayed at the cottage with our two daughters and their spouses for the week and had a wonderful time. The house has everything you need — complete kitchen, window AC, nice porch, outdoor seating, beach towels and beach chairs for the beach that is so close by and a wonderful outdoor shower. What could be better? Both daughters said they would live there! Fun times.
