Villa Les Oliviers, private beach access

Seul point négatif : l'odeur de la fosse septique qu'on prenait à certain moment sur la terrasse. Sinon séjour très agréable :)

The house was situated on one of the best beaches in Martinique. We spent just under a week exploring the island in search of a better beach only to return in the afternoon knowing we were on it. It was clean and equipped with just enough amenities to get by on vacation. With that being said there were a few issues at the house and a few things that I wish I had known before I arrived. From the pictures advertised it's hard to know that the only view of the ocean is from the patio. The kitchen, family room an two bedrooms that are attached to the living area are sub level with no view. The third bedroom was offered to us upon arival ( I assumed I was renting a four bedroom house with all bedrooms being attached to living area) but I did not feel comfortable with allowing either of my children to sleep there as it was disconnected so they ended up sharing a bedroom. The wifi service literally only worked in a two square foot area, sub level just outside the door of the living area before taking the steps up to the patio area so we were forced to sit on the steps to try and stay connected to the internet. The hot tub shown in the pictures online was not so hot, the heater did not work so essentially it was just a soaking tub. When I emailed the owner he said that he would have someone come to fix both wifi and hot tub to have them working properly but that was the last I heard, nothing was ever done about it. Please make sure you have the correct contact info of the house manager and if you only speak English know that her English is minimal to put it nicely. We were given a phone number (that was incorrect) and told to contact her once we left the airport, we tried but the number was not in service. I tried to email the owner but he never responded or even acknowledged our predicament. If it wasn't for a little perseverance and a very nice man at a local pizza place, we would of spent the night with two adults and two children sleeping in a car. Overall the house was clean and the setting was beautiful, that's what made up for the inconveniences we went through.
