About this house rental
Built in 1978, this contemporary style cottage looks out onto a tidal estuary in the Lieutenant Island Road area of Wellfleet. The house is bright and open and nicely furnished and well equipped. The kitchen, living room and dining area along with a bedroom with a king bed and full bath make up the main floor. On the second level an open loft has two twin beds along with a sitting area. Sliders from the living area lead to a large deck and the beautiful views of the changing tides on the salt marsh. It is a 5-10 minute drive to Wellfleet Center and the beaches at the ocean, the bay and the ponds. An administrative fee and applicable taxes may apply. Linens are not provided—guests may bring their own or rent. This property does not have air conditioning.

This was my second stay in this house. Been coming to the Cape for decades.The house is good for a couple with the option for two kids or guests in the loft. The house is fairly efficient. Nice deck. The couch is comfortable, the chairs less so. No games to play. There was an issue with a smoke alarm during my first stay. The owners addressed it so that will not happen again. Was happy to see that. The one design flaw with the house is that the bedroom gets no direct sunlight which may contribute to a musty odor. Not so bad with open windows. I think it's the carpet which I would remove. The bed was very good. The marsh out back no longer floods and drains as it did my first stay. Something has shifted in the landscape. The marsh had attracted many birds. Not so much this year. The view had been an attraction in the past. One thing about the lease (and it seems to be a common practice) is that you never get to spend a Saturday in the house. Late check in and early check out on a Saturday means you only get to spend the night. Seven nights, six days access to the house. That's a typical rental week on the Cape. Still, a great place to vacation. Overall I would recommended this house to friends.

The house was very nice minus the fact this was the first time I have used VRBO where linens were not included and there was an additional charge to use them from the home owner. My suggestion would be to increase the rent if you want to charge for the sheets and towels and include them.
TV was in an inconvenient location. Not easily accessible for seniors to go up and down ladder like stairs.
Please update and/or sharpen the knives (cutlery). A small paring knife would be nice to have as well.
The knives in the drawer were useless. Couldn’t cut anything without stabbing it first.
The view was amazing and the sunsets beautiful.
