Luxury exceptional design 4 Bedroom home in the best Roxbury location with firepaces and heated pool. Fully restored with a luxury kitchen, great room porch, den with a sleeper sofa, 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms. Frette sheets, bathrobes, linens, down feather beds, comforters and pillows. Flat Hi-Def Smart TVs in every room. Wonderful walking and biking (2 bikes) neighborhood surrounded by the former or current homes of Arthur Miller, Marilyn Monroe, Richard Widmark, Alexander Calder, William Styron, Frank McCort, and other artists, actors, and writers.
Roxbury & Washington are located in historic, rural Litchfield County, within a scenic 2-hour drive from NYC and is exceptional for its excellent restaurants, spas, antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, farms, historic homes, gardens, vineyards, distilleries, and orchards. The Gilmore Girls creator modeled Stars Hollow, the perfect Connecticut town, after Washington and the Independence Inn after the Mayflower Inn. It is the current or former home to many artists, writers, actors and Wall Street executives – referred to as "more Vermont, than Vermont" and "the un-Hamptons". Nature preserves, Lake Waramaug, and the Shepaug River offer extensive hiking, biking, and water activities. All of my homes in Washington and Roxbury (PoshPadsCT) are beautifully landscaped with flowering shrubs, flagstone terraces with gas bbq. And heated pools. They are furnisged with Frette pressed cotton sheets, plush towels and bathrobes, down featherbeds, comforters and pillows. Optional maid and catering and massage services are available. All homes have Central heat and AC, WiFi, flat screen televisions with dvds, cable and movie channels, and central alarms.
A car is necessary to enjoy rural Roxbury, Washington and Litchfield County.
The nearest bus station is Southbury, 15 minutes away.
The nearest train stations are in Amenia and Wingdale NY or Danbury or New Haven CT – all about 45 minutes away.
Monthly rates - Add utilities and snow plowing, lawn mowing, pool cleaning and pool heat billed as incurred. There is a $1500/month security/utilities deposit.

Everything about our experience was perfect. Steve was a wonderful host, and was extremely communicative. The house was spotless, comfortable and well equipped. We spent all day in the outdoor/indoor living space, which was so comfortable and inviting. The heated pool was the cherry on top.

A family of 7 adults, one baby and two dogs rented this house for Memorial Day weekend. Communication for check-in was great and Stephen was really flexible about when we arrived and left. The house is very well furnished - tons of towels, sheets, comfy beds, 4 bathrooms, and plenty of seating for everyone, plus an extra propane tank for all the grilling we did. The kitchen is well equipped and we ate most of our meals at home although there are plenty of little towns in the area. The location is pretty rustic and VERY green - driving in the area was a treat. It's a bit pricey but I would happily recommend this listing to other big groups!
