About this house rental

Two bedroom one bath fully equipped kitchen for friends and family get-together's. Comfortably accommodates four. King size bed in master, roomy closet space. Wake up to a dreamy view of Mount Juda. Guest bedroom has one queen bed and lots of extra storage room. We limit occupancy to four adults. Cabin, small children strongly discouraged without rigorous supervision. Convenient washer and dryer. Comfortable couch recliner to enjoy and winddown from a day of outdoor fun with a glass of wine. Living & dining room looks out to a large deck. Barbecue and take in the lovely view of Mount Anderson. Back deck walks down to a large fenced back yard. Great place for pets to exercise. Walk to the neighborhood park and yes, it's dog friendly. Convenient location to grocery store, just pick up what you need for your perfect vacation celebrations. Bakery and restaurants are as close as one block away for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even a pet store if you need something for Fido. If you need outdoor rental equipment it's a stone's throw away. In the winter the bus stop for (TART) Tahoe Area Rapid Transit is just down the street. So, you can walk to the bus and leave the car at home.

The house is cozy, perfect for my wife and I and our dog. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the pantry includes plenty of spices and condiments for those who like to cook. The back deck has a gas barbecue and firepit. The back yard was large enough for us to play fetch with our dog, which is his favorite pastime. One tip: the TV has a lag between when you push a button on the remote and when it responds; typically, about seven seconds. Once you get used to to it, it's fine.

We had another great stay at this cozy, clean home. It is well stocked with thoughtful touches, has comfortable beds, and a great deck and yard for dogs. Easy entry and the owner is very responsive. Location is central to everything. We just booked it again for another winter visit.

Carl's cabin is clean, fully stocked with all the necessities and then some, and thoughtfully appointed with lovely touches throughout. He was highly communicative and easy going. The cabin has a large porch, a massive back yard and is an easy walk to a great (but busy) breakfast/lunch place (good coffee) and a strip of shops, including bike rentals. Truckee has amazing bike paths. The neighborhood is very quiet and the king bed in the large bedroom is some kind of cloud/marshmallow hybrid that you literally melt into. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.

We didn’t have any pets, and were pleasantly surprised that the house was so clean - no pet hair to be found!

Carl was amazing with information provided before our stay. Check in was quick and easy. The location of the cabin is incredible! Small residential area in Truckee walking distance to stores and our favorite cafe Wild Cherries. I can’t say enough about how comfortable and well-equipped the cabin is—you can tell the home is used and loved by the owners. I always bring so much kitchen equipment to cook but the cabin had everything I needed and more. The master bed was so dreamy. Fenced in backyard that the pups really enjoyed. Cozy living room. Perfect for two couples and our dogs. Would love to stay here again in all of the seasons!

We loved our stay at this cute, cozy home. It had everything we needed and more. It’s close to everything, groceries, restaurants, ski resorts, etc. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens. The owner was very easy to communicate with. We were especially impressed with the greeting gifts of wine, chocolates and dog treats - very nice touch. We hope to stay here again!

Wow! What a welcoming stay. Everything from laundry soap to fresh coffee grounds provided. Upon entry, a welcome note with both adult and dog treats. The location was spot on and walking distance to everything from a grocery store to a local coffee shop to trails.

We really enjoyed this stay in Truckee, which worked out great for a week on the slopes. The house was well stocked with supplies--toiletries and snacks! The heater in the master bedroom is on the louder side, so light sleepers who like it very warm at night might want to consider earplugs.

We had an amazing time for our second stay at the cabin. The house is stocked with everything you could want for in a home away from home. The dogs had the absolute best time enjoying the yard and deck above anything else. We will definitely be back again!

We had a fantastic time at the little cabin in Truckee. The accomadations were exactly as described. Super clean and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchen had every utensil you could possibly need. We did bring a keurig but a coffee pot was provided. The neighbors were quiet as were we. The cabin is perfectly located close to the grocery store and downtown Truckee. We made day trips to surrounding areas because there is so much to see. Beautiful weather and a great respite from the Texas heat. Five stars for sure.

My husband and I and our 2 dogs really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We really enjoyed the wonderful welcome gifts. There was a very large backyard which our dogs really enjoyed and you are in walking distance to Grocery stores and restaurants. Many great hiking places nearby. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and felt comfortable here. We had a place to relax and outside to play ping pong and badminton. The barbecue grill was in great condition. We so appreciate the welcome gifts that he left; not just for us but our four-legged monster 😉 as well. I had messaged him a couple of times before our stay and he quickly responded. Cute and cozy cabin close to town. Walk to Safeway and many restaurants. Comfortable bed, nice big deck with BBQ and dining table. Big fenced in yard for our fur babies! Reasonably priced too. Oh and thanks for the dog treats, fog toy and lovely bottle of wine!

My two small terriers and I stayed 4 nights and had a cozy, quiet, comfortable getaway. (The first 2days my husband also joined us and went on day hikes.) They loved the huge yard to explore and I especially enjoyed the sun-covered large deck with night-time decorative lighting. Great location. The living room area was rather dark but it was also cool (which was good because it was in the 80s). Carl was a super host! I highly recommend this cabin especially for dog parents! Lynn T-O

Well located cabin, spotlessly maintained. The master bed is very comfortable and the bath was plenty hot! Perfect after skiing. My family of 3 enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The host is very kind and accomodating.

Quaint, clean cabin close to restaurants and shopping in Truckee with comfortable beds. Heater can be a bit noisy, but they provide instructions on how to manage. Rather than providing a booklet, there simple instructions on the wall for heater, WiFi, trash etc. so it makes extremely simple from arrival to departure.

I have never used this site before and this was a pretty great experience. The house was welcoming and the yard was perfect for our dogs to run and play. We even got a little bit of snow which was awesome. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

The hubby and I were happy with cabin. We loved how cozy it felt, the kitchen well organized and very clean, the beds comfy and location close to our favorite hang outs (Wild Cherry, Tea Shop, Smokey's Kitchen). We found plenty of walking areas and spent quality time, relaxing during the rainy days with a good book. It was excellent for our small Spaniel. Carl was the best host! His gifting our pooch with dog treats, toys was thoughtful. Also our canine kid enjoyed her comfy bed. We were welcomed with chocolates and bottle of wine. It made us feel so happy to be there when we arrived even though it was pouring rain! Plans to come back next year!

We stayed at Carl and Paula’s place many times this winter and highly recommend. Was fun this last time to do spring skiing and see the backyard finally:) The kids enjoyed the hammock and the dog sniffed every corner. The yummy treats were devoured and appreciated. Over the winter, the owners were so accommodating and helpful beyond any expectation. Wonderful place to visit and pleasure to book. See you next winter!

We were at Carl's cabin for three weeks during the huge snowfalls of late February and early March. We sometimes felt a little snowbound and got tired of shoveling snow, but the house was cozy and well stocked, as well as super dog friendly. It's very convenient to the excellent Wild Cherry Bakery and Coffee House and to New Moon Natural Foods. Not to mention easy access to skiing!

So appreciate the wonderful communication and lovely home. Small but well laid out and very nicely stocked with day to day needs. Thoughtful welcoming gifts and so inclusive of the pup. Grateful there weren’t stairs to keep clear of snow, though did have to be careful as ice built up a bit right where you exit front door. Look forward to returning again!
