About this cottage rental

Overlooking Loch Fyne, this lovely holiday cottage offers stunning views. It's easy to get the whole family together for holidays, Christmas, New Year or celebrations, in our adjoining holiday cottages (please see property 732019).

Situated on the outskirts of Furnace village, 9 miles south of Inveraray, Lochside Cottage is a perfect rural retreat. It has a fully fitted and well equipped kitchen containing all that you need for a self catering holiday. All bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms are fully tiled.

Larger groups or extended families (max 12) may be interested in renting 'Lochside Cottage' along with our adjoining property 'Lochview Cottage' (property 732019).

Lochfyneside, with its views to the hills and forests of the Cowal Peninsula, is in a stunning part of Argyll. Bird-watching, walking, diving, riding, golf and fishing are available locally. Red squirrel, pine martin, common seals, gannets, buzzard and golden eagle may all be seen nearby.

Lochside Cottage is ideally situated for trips to Inveraray with its famous castle, bell tower, historic jail, maritime museum, shops and restaurants. Furnace village has a local store and post office (1 mile).

For lovers of Scottish culture there are events held locally throughout the year. The area has many excellent hotels and restaurants, many serving local seafood and other local produce. Treat yourself to a meal at the famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Smokery.

Communication with the owner was fantastic and the little extras of wine, tea, coffee etc was really good as well as hand wash and towels provided for each bathroom and towels for each bed was great. Loved the accessible bathroom but the water wasn't that hot for showering, even with putting the water on twice. Loved the big fridge and freezer so plenty of space to store things. Best to take food with you a no big supermarkets locally although the small shop in Furnace is great and also does some take away food.

Perfect location to explore loch fyne and surrounding areas. The cottage was, clean, warm and very well equiped. There is provision for a wheelchair user including a wetroom. The most putstandung thing fir me was just how friendly the local people were in the shops and bars. Perfect fir a short break.

We had such a lovely stay in this home. It was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The view out to the Loch was amazing and we enjoyed stargazing at night from the beautiful garden. Our host was just terrific and very responsive to our questions. Inverary is just a short drive away and is such a sweet village. I highly recommend the home for your holiday.

The house was situated in the most serene place you can ever imagine. Watching porpoises/dolphins while having breakfast was a complete treat. The amenities and the check-in procedure was all quick and easy. Definitely booking this again!

Very nice house with a stunning view. The street runs right in front of the garden, but there are hardly any cars during the night, so no problem to sleep with open windows. Well equipped kitchen and rooms. Very good set-up for handicapped people, never saw a house so well prepared.

View of the loch was amazing. Easy commute to neighbouring towns. Facilities were exactly as described, we had everything we needed. The disability facilities were excellent and just what we needed for one of our parties. The response time to questions was excellent. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere quiet or as a base to explore.

The cottage was very well presented with everything provided to ensure a comfortable stay. There are perfect disabled facilities with a ramp to the front door. The owners were very welcoming and friendly hosts. This is a perfect holiday cottage for a family with plenty of places to visit close by. . The cottage is well situated beside the lovely Loch Fyne with off-road parking and included everything that we needed for our stay. The owners provide a very informative welcome pack with ideas of what to do/where to go in the area. Our only complaint was the beds, which didn’t suit three geriatrics with bad hips but are probably fine for younger, more mobile guests. Overall, it’s an ideal place to stay to explore that part of Scotland and I gave already recommended it to a few colleagues and friends.

This is a lovely property overlooking Loch Fyne the house is in very good condition it is very handy for sightseeing around this area as there are lovely towns and villages within an hours drive hosts were very helpful well worth a visit you will not be disappointed

Cottage is very clean and has exactly what you need for a comfortable stay. Views are lovely especially when the sun is out. For anyone with mobility issues the downstairs twin bedroom and ensuite are ideal and wheelchair friendly. The owners are very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful.

It was a great choice. The house is spacious and cozy, the view was absolutely stunning. The location is perfect, easy access to almost everything on the Highlands. Maria sent us a very detailed list about what to do, where to find, it was really useful. It's a great accomodation, definetely suggested.

Great multi-generational holiday

Given the range of people in our group (ages 16 to 85), with their varied mobilities and interests this house was superb. The downstairs bedroom with bathroom provided safe and easy access for my parents. All bedrooms had space to move around and good storage. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to prepare a full roast for Easter weekend. The views from the property were fantastic and were constantly changing. Access to the lock over the road was good and outside seating was great for views too and was sheltered from the breeze. Plenty of parking and access out to road was also easy. With just a short drive to Furnace the little store there was well stocked and lovely community spirit. At Minard Point there's a great 2mile walk along the shore and round the headland and for anyone that might want to swim in the Loch, this is a good get in point. Inveraray is no distance at all and there is plenty to do and see within easy driving distances. A great base. Really it was fantastic!

Lovely cottage with amazing views over the loch. Quite remote. There is a village shop nearby, but for a bigger selection Inveraray is the closest town (about 10/15 mins drive). The owners have thought of everything and you’ll have all you need for a self- catering holiday.

The location was perfect. We were able to build a great itinerary with beaches, mountains, and towns around Furnace. Even from the house, we were able to walk to the loch front for a swim. And in the evening able to return to have a barbecue outdoor. True luxury, highly, highly recommended for anyone who wants a relaxing escape.

We had the most amazing stay here - beautifully located, village with all amenities about 20 minutes away. Lots of walks. MAria and her husband were wonderful, stopped in to say hello, easy to contact throughout the holiday and just perfect hosts. The cottage was clean, tidy and large! Including Sky tv - perfect accessibility for my mum who struggles to move - covnerted the downstairs twin room into a double room for us for my parents to stay in. Couldnt recommend higher!

This is an excellent house with all you need for a relaxing holiday. Views across the Loch were stunning. You do need to be prepared to drive around to see the area, but roads were quiet and every drive had beautiful views. Hosts were very easy to communicate with & replied promptly. We enjoyed a great chat with them in the garden too.

14/8-18/8 can I start by saying how lucky us scots are to have this beautiful country to call home .myself hubby and friends spent 4nights in Lochside cottage on loch fyne we arrived late at night so had a wee bit bother finding cottage just because it was pitch black when we arrived.the cottage itself was lovely and warm kitchen a little small but everything you needed was there 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms 1 en suite sitting room with coal fire weather was lovely when we were there 25degrees(honestly) so didnt light fire. we met the owners colin and maria Saturday morning as they own cottage next door loch view cottage, which they invited us through to look at, beautiful cottage slightly larger than Lochside cottage with living room window looking straight onto loch they were absolutely delightful people. the cottage itself is 9 miles south of Inveraray which is a lovely wee village with a great wee sweetie shop with all the old favourites.there is a small shop for basics in the village of furnace about a mile from the cottage .we just spent lazy days soaking up the sun and doing a spot of fishing on the loch.would we return absolutely we are hoping to return for new year .if you are Scottish take this time to explore your own beautiful country you wont be disappointed if you are visiting from afar you will be warmly welcomed to enjoy this beautiful country we are lucky enough to call home

Having been cooped up in lockdown for a few months, myself and a few friends enjoyed a little getaway to the Lochside Cottage. Check in process was very easy (no person to person contact) and there was a little welcome basket of wine and shortbread which was greatly appreciated. The cottage has everything you need - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen - and it did have outdoor space with a BBQ. Views are lovely! The sea loch is right across the road and the more of brave of us went for a swim and a seal popped its head out of the water to say hello a few metres from us! Nearby is the town of Inveraray, and there are a few Munros a short drive away aswell. There was absolutely no disturbance from either side of the cottage, so the only improvement could be the beds being a bit more stable as the roll around a little bit on wheels. Apart from that - a great place to stay!

The cottage was lovely bigger than expected, very clean and the kitchen very well equipped. Lovely views of the loch from the windows. One of the bedroom was downstairs with disabled access an ensuite bathroom with disabled access so this cottage is very suitable for a guest in a wheel chair too. The owner even left us tea, coffee and a bottle of wine and had an open fire laid, ready to be lit and had Christmas decorations up which made it even more homely. Would definitely stay here again.

Very pleased with the bungalow, although we never met our hosts, every thing we required was present and we had no problems. The road in front of the property was busy at times, and unfortunately this somewhat cuts off exploring the beautiful Loch side. Great Natural Trust Gardens on your door step!
