EVERYthing is “game” themed at The Great Escape! Walk in and play on the giant formal chessboard built into the living room floor… Unravel the mystery message spelled in tiles in the Scrabble bedroom… Solve an interactive “escape room” mystery in the two Clue game bedrooms… Practice your international spy skills navigating the world's first residential LASER MAZE....Enjoy classic Atari (and other) games in the Pac-Man bedroom…. Write on the walls of the Pictionary bedroom….

The 40,000 gallon “go fish” pool, giant waterslide, kiddy waterslide, & multi-speed lazy river also features an outdoor kitchen and entertainment center. There’s fishing, kayaking, canoeing, outdoor TV, a Jumanji themed movie theater, family game show themed arcade w/ actual game show booths, a giant LITE BRITE wall, giant Operation game wall, a candidate wall for Guinness Book’s “World Largest Word Search record,” an in-floor piano, carnival games, disco light w/ karaoke, the world’s first residential laser maze, arcade games, a giant inflatable light chase/race arena, human foosball (Google it!), basketball court, tetherball, volleyball, outdoor giant checkers/chess, soccer billiards (another one to Google), and so much more!

The Great Escape is luxurious and fun for ALL ages, & designed with incredible attention to every detail. There are 13 bedrooms. 8 have ensuite bathrooms, 4 share Jack-N-Jill bathrooms, and 1 uses a 1/2 bathroom across the hall.

ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. How Does The Great Escape Lakeside Sleep 45 People In 13 Bedrooms?

Check out the house's website for a floor plan to understand the basic layout of the King/Queen/Twin/Bunk beds in our 13 bedrooms. The beds you see on the floor plan accommodate the first 34 guests. Additionally, the estate has 6 twin rollaway beds and 2 twin sleeper sofa beds. There's also 1 futon and at least additional 2 people usually sleep comfortably in the Jumanji theater where the luxury seats recline fully like beds. (Teens & young adults LOVE falling asleep in the theater while watching movies on the giant screen). In sum, our permanent beds sleep 34, and you can get 11 more in our sleeper sofas, rollaways, etc; Plus, there are 2 pack-n-play cribs!

2. How Much Does It Cost?
Homeaway will provide you with correct rates for any dates you choose. Nightly rates vary from approx. $1495-$1745/night (a bit more for the weeks of Xmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, etc;). Departure cleaning is $888 and taxes are 11%. Last minute dates with less than 4 weeks to go are sometimes much less!

3. Can The Rates Be Negotiated?
Nope, sorry! To keep our prices fair to all, the rates we advertise are the actual, final prices that everyone pays. Remember: It's usually far more cost effective to rent The Great Escape Lakeside than it is to rent a comparable number of nice hotel rooms.... When you consider the abundance of luxury & entertainment amenities at The Great Escape, you're sure to agree that our rates are more than fair.

4. What's The Cancellation Policy?
You can cancel your reservation at The Great Escape up to 120 calendar days prior to your scheduled check-in date. The only penalty for doing so is a $285 cancellation fee (and any credit card fees if you used a card to make your deposit). If you cancel with 120 or fewer days until check-in, your deposit and any additional money paid would be forfeited.

5. How Do I Reserve The Great Escape?
You do it right here on VRBO....You can pay your deposit by any major credit card, check, or direct deposit. We'll also email you a rental agreement to initial, sign, and return to us--finalizing your reservation! 6. Can I book only 1 night or 2 nights --rather than the 3 night minimum?
The only time this is possible --- is when we have a 2 night GAP in our calendar. If, for example, one guest leaves on Friday...and another guest is scheduled to arrive on Sunday... THEN, you can book THAT Friday-Sunday to fill the 2 night gap. Some sites may still not allow you to select fewer than 3 nights online-- If you experience trouble filling a 2 night gap here on VRBO, message us for assistance!

7. Is The Estate Pet Friendly?
It's case-by-case! Definitely* no cats-- only dogs... At minimum, your dogs will need to be hypoallergenic and potty-trained. There is a $45/day fee for pets.
