About this villa rental
Modern, clean lines define the style of this 5 bedroom beachfront villa, located on the dunes of Jose Ignacio. Large windows and high ceilings provide a light and airy atmosphere, taking full advantage of the breezes rolling off the ocean only a few yards away.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms Las Dunas' two comfortable master suites each have views out to the beach. One of the master bedrooms has a sunken view top and wood burning fireplace creating a cozy and intimate setting. Las Dunas also has four other comfortable guest bedrooms, one of which is ideally suited for small children. This also includes one detached double en-suite bedroom.
The bathrooms, some en suite, are decorated in tile and glass, complementing the crisp, modern style of the villa. Common Spaces The main living area is the centrepiece of Las Dunas. The spacious living room includes two fireplaces, original leather chairs and plush sofas. Architect Maria Benitez designed Las Dunas to incorporate natural, local elements, such as weaved thistle roof and white painted wood floors to emphasize the villa's beach location. Floor to ceiling windows provide uninterrupted views and, coupled with the high ceilings, create a bright and airy living area. A games room, with a plasma television and games, is a good place to spend some quality downtime. Exterior Features Aside from the sand dunes and beach access, Las Dunas has several patios and terraces which allow you to enjoy its beachfront location. A small entry patio with a garden and direct beach access greets you upon arrival. A terrace overlooks the beach and incorporates a parrilla (Uruguayan BBQ) for outdoor dining opportunities. Nearby, a tennis court and swimming pool are available at the exclusive community clubhouse. Amenities Las Dunas has a full range of amenities, including a game room with plasma television and DirecTV; wifi access throughout, a fully equipped modern kitchen; a BOSE music system; central heating; and access to the community clubhouse.
Please note that beach service, swimming pool and tennis courts are not always available during the non-summer months.
House comes with housekeeper who does simple homy cooking and cleaning.

When you first arrive and walk through the well maintained lawn you think 'this is rather pleasant' as you would if you were staying in a cottage in the Cotswolds: but beyond the initial quaintness of the entrance lies something quite breathtaking.
There is a small swimming pool which is great to cool down with a drink in your hand but not big enough to entice you away from the wonderful sea in front. There is a large, white cushioned seating area outside by the pool that can host easily more than 10 guests and is partially in the shade for those that like to stay cool.
The walk inside the building takes a different form that belies the impression from the outside. The outside area in a way becomes the inside area in that the ambience created by the sand-stone walls and floor makes you feel that you are living in the landscape in front of you. The living area houses an enormous dining table surrounded by luxurious cushions that seat you. To the right of the dining table is an elevated seating area that on one side is decorated by a large book shelf. In front of the elevated seating area and dining table is a very wide, sliding glass wall that gives uninterrupted views of the sand dunes, beach and glorious sea. On some days the vista can be different if the winds whip up the dunes to another formation.
The rest of the property has twists and turns akin to a rabbits warren, cleverly designed so that all bedrooms have a sea view. Each room is very independent with their own bathrooms. The kitchen looks outstanding although the service from the kitchen staff is so professional that visits to this area are not essential unless you like raiding the fridge in the middle of the night.
Every detail in the house has been thought of and although the appearance is simple, all the materials from linens to tableware are of the most luxurious quality.
Kids and adults at night or on a rainy afternoon can enjoy pulling over the cinema screen sized curtain to watch a movie on the projector or fun stuff using the computer to a very large projection.
This place would be enjoyed, I think, by those who appreciate architecture, art, comfort, fun, good taste, convenience, location, good design and great service.

This is a great house for a family vacation. The design and staff were perfect...only surpassed by the beach location. Private, but an easy walk to everything in Jose Ignacio.
