Minor issues: new pool-side furniture might be good. Broadband Internet access very fast, but as the router is located in a stone recess, wi-fi reception around the house is a bit limited. Neither of these are major factors or spoiled our stay in any way.

We were lucky to stay in Boussy during some very hot days (over 35°C), but the house has thick walls and remained fresh, except the second floor under the roof. The house and swimming pool are very comfortable. My only recommendation was an extra cooking pot, large enough to serve and cook for 8-10 people. For the rest we enjoyed are week very much. When we had a question, our host was very helpful and always available (living at 200 m in a castle).

The process was easy from start to finish and the house and location were perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The pool was perfect for the kids to play and for the adults to cool down from the beautiful sunshine. The area was nice and quiet with routes available to go for evening walks. Overall a wonderful property and surroundings and we would definitely come back.

A gorgeous location and a lovely exterior with a great pool. The interior needs some attention - one dining chair fell apart and others were very rickety. There are only two toilets in the whole property, one of which doesn’t have a handbasin. We did enjoy our stay but felt a little disappointed with the interior of the property.

Exactly what we needed

We stayed at le presbytère (the rectory) for four nights on our way back to England from Arcachon. Marc, the owner, was a fantastic host and was there to help when we needed it whilst also giving us complete privacy. The property itself exceeded our already high expectations, and is in a beautiful setting just around the corner from the Chateau that has been kept in the family since (as i recall) 1024. The private swimming pool was just what our kids needed to build confidence in their swimming, and so we split our time between swimming and exploring the beautiful surroundings including a visit to the incredible Château de Chenonceau, a Unesco world heritage site. We are looking forward to a longer stay next time!

The property is large with plenty of space for the family. We had 6 people there but it accommodates more. The views are good, the pool was good, the location was quiet, and the owner was supportive. it is in a very small hamlet and you do need to go outside for a boulangerie, but this is about 10 mins away.

We stayed here in August this year and had a fantastic time. Beautiful house, both inside and out, with wonderful views of the countryside. Very rustic, nice pool and ping-pong table which were great for kids. Local villages for shops and eating out within 15 mins drive and supermarket 10 mins away. Lovely part of France. Monsieur dubecdelièvre nous a bien accueilli dans sa maison de famille. La maison est située dans un village très tranquille avec des belles vues toutes autour de la maison. Le propriétaire nous a aussi fait un tour privé de son château médiéval et nous a expliqué l'histoire du château qui appartient à sa famille depuis presque mille ans . Pendant notre séjour on a pu faire beaucoup d activités dans la région comme canoë, châteaux, cyclisme etc .

On a passé 3 jours en famille dans cette maison, c'était vraiment super. La maison est grande, agréable à vivre, l'extérieur est spacieux (nous étions 11 et on ne se marchait pas dessus), la piscine est belle et chauffée! La maison est dans un village est très sympa et pittoresque, juste à côté d'un belle église. On a pu visiter l'extérieur du chateau juste à côté. Marc est très accueillant et réactif, il nous a apporté des ustensiles qui nous manquaient, et il nous a même raconté l'histoire de sa famille, du village et du chateau! Je recommande ce séjour, et j'y retournerai avec plaisir.

Location sur 3 jours en famille : grand-parents, enfants et petits-enfants. La taille de la maison permet à chacun de garder une petite indépendance si besoin. - baignade dans la piscine - jeux de cartes dans la salle à manger - lecture dans le salon - même la sieste pour certains dans leur chambre. On serait bien resté 1 semaine complète. C'est calme et les environs sont propices à des rando et des visites. L'hôte est très accueillant. Je conseille cette location.

Nous étions à 2 familles et nous avons trouvé toute la place pour loger dans cette maison ancienne de charme. La belle piscine et les diners dans le jardin avec vue bucolique ont été appréciés! La région est riche de châteaux, de balades à pied ou à vélo, pas loin non plus du Futuroscope, du zoo de Beauval... et très près du spa de la Roche-Posay. Les propriétaires, châtelains du château de Boussay voisin, sont disponibles et sympas, n'hésitez pas à leur demander de vous raconter l'histoire de leur château, depuis bientôt 1000 ans dans leur famille! Merci pour ces belles vacances!

Si vous souhaitez trouver un endroit calme et parfaitement reposant , le village de Boussay s'impose ! la propriété , ancien presbytère , est tout a fait charmante et très agréable à vivre ; la décoration intérieure est très sympathique , et la cuisine bénéficie de tous les équipements nécessaires ; tout le linge de maison et de cuisine est proposé en quantités ,ce qui est très rare dans les locations ; bref vous vous sentirez comme dans votre propre maison de campagne ; quand à l'accueil de Madame la propriétaire , il est exceptionnellement chaleureux !

Très chouette we en famille ! Dommage que la météo n’ait pas été plus ensoleillée mais nous avons tout de même pu profiter de la piscine et des extérieurs. La maison a beaucoup de charme, est très spacieuse, avec tout le confort nécessaire. Le jardin est très agréable, fleuri, avec vue sur la nature environnante et la terrasse côté piscine est propice aux apéros. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et nous a fait partager l’histoire du château (possibilité de se promener dans le parc du château). Nous recommandons sans hésiter !

We had a wonderful week in this house! We were with 8 people and had so much space. This house is made for 11 people. The big table outside was in the shadow the whole day through. So that's the best when it's really hot outside. In the evening it got colder but then we could easily go sit inside, in the living room. The supermarket is about 12-15 minutes by car and the best bakery is about 7 minutes away. So, very close by... The owner of the house is very easy and friendly. He gave us a tour around his beautiful house, where he lives now (next door). And you can make very nice walks in the neighbourhood. We had a lovely week in this house. We'd love to come back again. :-)

A beautiful house set in an idyllic french hamlet

The property was very comfortable and spacious with loads of character. The charming church bells ring out the time during the day and foxes, deers, birds of prey can be spotted in the surrounding fields and skies. There are lovely walks to enjoy close by the chateau and the pool surrounded by hollyhocks is most refreshing before relaxing in the garden. Our two families ate outside most evenings though there is a lovely dining room also. Nearby Roche Posay has lovely shops and spa treatments to enjoy as well as regular markets and a pretty river amenity area. We would definitely return to this house and this area and thank Marc and Delphine for their courtesy and respect.
