“The Tree” house (so named for its massively gorgeous oak) stands at the site of a pre-Civil War cabin. This home welcomes visitors young and old alike and groups large or small! Explore the spacious outdoors that include hiking trails, quaint pond with a floating dock, a fire pit and tire swing and a large field for lacrosse, soccer, football, frisbee - you name it!
With only a 23 minute drive among lovely farms and Blue Ridge views you may experience the well loved Historic Downtown Pedestrian Mall. The University of Virginia with it's beautiful Rotunda and Grounds is just a few minutes beyond that.
Wineries are abundant in the area! Close by visit the Barboursville Vineyards and Ruins as well as Horton Vineyards. Castle Hill, a cidery with a spectacular setting and wedding venue is just a few back-roads away... The host went above and beyond to accommodate us when the power went out from some bad storms. The house is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures. The pond fishing was great! House fit all 15 of us with room to spare. Will definitely rebook again in 2 years.

This property was as beautiful as it was comfortable, which is saying a lot. We loved the house--it was spacious, well-maintained, well equipped, and really lovely, inside and out. The living space inside (which was beautifully decorated) and the big patio were some of our favorite features. The kids enjoyed the long tree swing. We all appreciated the proximity to several vineyards and Charlottesville.

This property was more than we expected. Our grandchildren loved The Nest! An unexpected playroom upstairs. We were actually in town for a wedding and our children would like to return to this property when we can actually spend time and enjoy the things available on the property. We saw so many fox and othe wild life. Not much different than our home in NY but nice in this quiet setting.
Lovely place to stay spacious and comfortable!
