Boaties Paradise - Charming waterfront cottage.

Waterfront property with stunning views of Schoolhouse Bay. The house is well equipped with everything needs. Comfortable areas to relax and watch the view. Wish we had a boat or kayak to get out there. Our girls enjoyed jumping off the wharf and exploring the island.

Great island to explore. Lots of bird life day and night (Kiwi, terns, gulls, kaka, etc).Easy arrival/ departure from the wharf via water taxi/ ferry. Having a boat would give you more bays to explore but not a problem being boatless. Spent an inordinate amount of time sitting on the deck watching the water, boats, birds, and just loving the idyllic peace and pace.

We (four adults and one child) spent a wonderful week at Bob's bach. It is an absolutely charming "real kiwi bach" right on the waterfront. It was decorated beautifully with a nautical theme which perfectly suited the location. The bach was very clean and comfortable. At high tide my brother (who is wheelchair bound) was able to visit by boat (he has a bach at South Cove) and tie up right outside the bach - we set up drinks and nibbles on the little jetty out the front and were able to socialise without him even needing to get out of the boat (which would not have been possible). A boaties' paradise indeed. The walking tracks on Kawau are lovely and we explored every day. There is an amazing huge tree swing at Dispute Cove which we all had fun on when we walked across to visit the ruins of the old copper mine. Another night we ventured out with our torches covered with red cellophane to try and spot a kiwi on the nearby kiwi track. Although we heard two (or maybe the same one twice) we didn't manage to spot one. But we did see hundreds of glow-worms as we tiptoed silently along the track - magic! Highly recommended.

Fantastic bach right on the waters edge that's well set-up for boaties. Really enjoyed the BBQ's on the deck with the views across School House Bay and the tranquil surroundings.
