Valentia Island is magical itself. The best description of the island and the guesthouse is "them olden good times". Reenglass House is a historical mansion, maintained at the perfection level! There is a living room and a dining room downstairs. The breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious! There is a shared refrigerator in the dining room as well. The room was comfortable. We had a private bathroom across the corridor (another hint of them olden good times): we actually liked it very much! Outside: a convenient car park. Private access to the beach. A nice bench behind a huge tree where we spent a long time watching the strait. A playground. Even a sauna if anyone needed one. The host Kieran was the best person! Immediately upon our arrival, he offered coffee then took me to the map and explained what was worth to see in the area (he actually explained the Skellig Ring drive). He recommended local restaurants on the island and on the mainland (and mentioned we needed an early reservation there!) He also lent us an electric kettle. There is one thing I need to warn you about: the TV does not work there. "Them olden good times", remember? Reenglass House was one of the best places I could stay at in my travelling life!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The house has an authentic and rugged feel. The bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! The house being in the shore is a highlight and a 10 minute beautiful walk to the town. Would recommend and definitely stay again!
