Our stay at Villa D’Carik was absolutely wonderful and truly unforgettable.
The villa is beautiful, peaceful, and immaculately clean—exactly the kind of place you come to Bali hoping to find.
What really made our experience special was the exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful staff. Every single person went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cared for. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavour.
Travelling with a 1-year-old can be challenging, but Villa D’Carik made it effortless. Our toddler loved the stay and enjoyed his meals so much. We requested special food for our baby, and the chef kindly went off the menu to prepare fresh, customised baby meals—such a thoughtful and heart-warming gesture.
The location is calm and serene, perfect for families looking to relax away from the crowds. A special mention to Waien (I hope I spelled it correctly), who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. His hospitality truly made us feel at home.
Every detail, every smile, and every effort ensured we had a pleasant and memorable stay. We leave with beautiful memories and a grateful heart—and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

The owner and the staff were super friendly. The area and the villas were super quiet and calm. The whole temple experience is amazing. Breakfast and pool was also good. Loved it here ;-)

The hosts are extremely welcoming and treated us with great care. They picked us and drop us from the taxi pick up point, regardless of the time - even if we were okay with walking. This place is absolutely beautiful with great hosts. The property also has a temple, the closest we got to one.
The bathroom could have been cleaner and the smell of the room over all.

Great location at the border of denpasar, with rice field view. It was super calm and the family owning the place is really kind and helpful. I will be back

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. The temple is what we like the most. We get to experience Indonesian culture just by staying here. Since this is located on the inner parts of Bali and away from touristy spots, the place is quiet and peaceful which is great when just staying-in and relaxing.
The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. Our requests are immediately taken care of.
Food is delicious and affordable. Breakfast usually starts at 7AM and is included in our package, but on the days where we had to leave early due to tours, they still have our breakfast packed. We really appreciate this.
Will definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous private family temple onsite that was truly mind blowing! Peaceful view of the rice paddies 1 hr from airport. Filled the bird songs dawn and dusk. Lovely family prepares your food for a very reasonable price. Private and quiet/ away from the hustle and bustle of Denpasar.
Accessing the property is a bit strange. Your taxi drops u off at the end of the road and u need to contact the property for them to find and gather u and ur luggage in a golf cart. My phone was dead so luckily my driver called them for me. It’s also quite isolate so u need some type of transport. Limited food options close by

*Family with kids age 6 & 4.
When we first arrived my wife’s face was a picture as it’s well and truly out of the hustle and bustle, “in the sticks” as we say & the Taxi can’t get all the way to the property so they collect you on a golf cart from 400m out.
From that point onwards you’ll be blown away, especially if you like peace, tranquility and wonderful people with huge smiles. Taxis to get around from there are up to around $5USD for an hours ride, so you can get where you want for very good value. The place is set in a temple which I believe is the families that run the place, beautiful architecture if you’re into that. Food was great, staff wonderful and we will go back again for sure.

Such a peaceful location and place. I could really unwind here and relax my mind.
I think the only things I would point out is the door to my villa wasn’t the easiest to close, open, lock and unlock.

The place is even more beautiful than in the photos. It was incredible. The rooms were very big and clean. The breakfast was also excellent.
I liked everything!

Quiet location with a pool.
The bathroom doesn't have ventilation, so it stinks, the drain of the shower is clogged, and the sewage comes up. There is no proper lighting in the bathroom. The sink is very small and you can easily hit your head into the shelf above it. The linen above the bed is disgusting, stained with months old gecko poo. Dusty old curtains. The water that surrounds the houses stinks of some kind of rot.
The photos are at least 10 years old, the garden is quite much darker, the ants are marching everywhere.

The owner and all the staff are extremely nice and helpful. At departure, our taxi driver didn't show up and the owner immediately called a taxi for us at 05:30am.
The hotel is in a beautiful environment. The statues and monuments in the courtyard are even more gorgeous than the tourist sights. The room is big and comfortable. The food is delicious, especially the Chicken Satay! I would highly recommend this place to stay in Bali!
The only thing to improve could be to put some shelves in the bathroom. There's nowhere to put our stuff around the sink.

Nice location with an enclosed temple (!), away from Bali hustle and bustle, still close to family-oriented attractions (Zoo, Bird Park etc.). The food is awesome btw!
We think due to some agricultural works a generator was quite noisy quite close to the room.

The villas are lovely for the price you're paying for them. It's *incredibly* quiet. I had a good time there and that was mainly due to the staff. Everyone there was so lovely, right down to recognizing I didn't eat any of my papaya for breakfast, and switching it to banana (without me having to ask). I'd definitely recommend Villa D'Carik to people going to Bali on a bit of a budget.
The fact that the villas are essentially round the back of a working Hindu temple is also very, very cool - and you'll almost definitely meet some friendly cats!
The location is a bit off - you're essentially in the middle between Denpasar and Ubud, and with the traffic in Bali being unlike anywhere in the world (it's a nightmare quite frankly) this can be a problem. For instance, it took me around 45 minutes to get to the football stadium via a Grab car (the bikes admittedly are much faster (and cheaper)).
One more thing: bring mosquito repellant - there's quite a lot of standing water throughout the place and I got bit a few times (nothing major), but worth thinking about!

I have been in many places in Bali and I can confirm: this is the perfect place to rest, surrounded by nature, quiet, connection and confort.
We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 year old child and had the best time. We didn't felt that we needed to leave the place. We could have stayed for much longer.
The villa is surrounded by ricefields. You enter the rice fields with the hotel buggy, they help with all the luggage.
Then you pass beautiful temples and then you get to the villa.
The room was confortable, the pool really relaxing.
All the staff was great and the hosts were very friendly and helped us with all the things we needed.
It was all good.

You get a lot of Bali at these beautifully located villas. Temple area with beautiful green garden surounded by rice paddys. A nice pool. Nice food. Excellent service by the staff. Airport transfer just 45 minutes.
Strangely built bathroom with the shower located directly inside the door and the toilet at the back of the room. Wet floors to get to the toilet.

- The atmosphere is very homey, and the staffs are friendly.
- On rainy days, you can hear the sound of frogs from the rice fields, which reminds me of my childhood home 20 years ago. It's a completely different scenery from the city.
- Thanks to the mosquito net, I didn't get bitten by mosquitoes or insects.
- The toilet and shower are old and dirty. The washbasin was really dirty. The shower and toilet are close together, making it inconvenient to use the toilet after taking a shower. I always feel stressed when using the toilet.
- The shower only provides warm water for about 5 minutes. I always had to take a cold shower after my children.
- Opening and closing the door is difficult. It's not suitable for people with valuable belongings.
- There are sharp edges on the door, and my child bumped into them and got injured.
- The narrow road leading to the accommodation cannot accommodate cars. It is especially challenging to go out on rainy days. Also, it can be difficult to call a taxi from this location. There is a possibility that taxis may not come, so it's better to avoid urgent situations when staying here.
- There are too many ants in the room. Additionally, there are unidentified creatures in the room, and I have to deal with their droppings every day. It's scary and unsanitary. I have never had such an experience before.
- There is a leak when it rains.

The owner Wayan is very friendly and easy going. The hotel is built around several hindu temples, very impressive. So are the Koi fish in the pond, and the exotic birds.

Its very quiet. Really good place to stay after the tours.
Its quiet hard to find. Grab drivers and our tour drivers had a bit of trouble finding it. Also more food on the menus would be great considering its hard for Grab drivers to find it.

It was so beautiful and secluded. Tranquil and serene. We loved the family of tiny bats, the wonderful temple, the kittens and the geckos. The staff were so kind and helpful. My daughter loved feeding the fish. We are so grateful you showed us around your beautiful temple.
