About this house rental

Experience the “rapeseed blossoms” in the beautiful, sun-drenched May countryside. Let yourself be captivated by nature and its stunning contrasts as the May countryside is bathed in brilliant yellow.
Far from the stress of everyday life, on an old farm, this Mediterranean-style apartment is waiting for you. It was built in the side wing of an old barn. The apartment features a lovely bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, and a cozy living room with a romantic fireplace. It’s ideal for 2 people.
Cyclists especially appreciate the short distance to the Maifeld bike trail. Experience the newly designed “Dream Trails.” Walk through sun-drenched vineyard terraces and across wide plateaus with spectacular views of the Moselle’s side valleys and Eltz Castle.

Highlight 1: Terrassenmosel / Untermosel: Just 8 km away lies the wonderful Terrassenmosel, characterized by spectacularly steep slopes and excellent Moselle wine. Because: the steeper the vineyard, the greater the intensity of sunlight.
On particularly steep slopes, conditions are comparable to those found up to 1,000 km further south.
In 1988, RWE built a large photovoltaic system on a mountain range near Kobern-Gondorf, where the Celts once performed solar rites.
Otherwise, the Lower Moselle is characterized by “chivalric romance,” historic walls, cultural treasures, and a Mediterranean feel in the summer.
Places steeped in history—such as Kobern-Gondorf, Winningen, and Alken, to name just a few—invite you to experience the Moselle in a particularly immersive way... and this extends all the way to the German corner of Koblenz, where you can explore the beautiful old town. Or take the aerial cableway on a trip across the Rhine to enjoy the view.

Highlight 2: Eltz Castle: Eltz Castle, near the town of Münstermaifeld, is one of the most beautiful castles in Germany. It is located in the Elz Valley, which separates the Maifeld from the Vordereifel. Along with Bürresheim Palace, Eltz Castle is the only complex in the Maifeld-Eifel region that has never been conquered or devastated.

Part of the castle is open to visitors during the summer months. Tours are organized between April 1 and November 1 and are offered daily in November.

Interesting fact:
In the penultimate series of Deutsche Mark banknotes, the 500 DM bill featured an image of Burg Eltz on the reverse side.
Burg Eltz was depicted on the 40-Pfennig stamp in the 1977 “Castles and Palaces” series issued by the Deutsche Bundespost.
Burg Eltz also serves as an example for traffic sign No. 386, “Tourist Information,” in the StVO traffic sign catalog.
Another tip: It’s worth taking a walk through the countryside on one of the spectacular, picturesque trails.

Highlight 3: Maifeld Bike Path: Along with the easy-to-navigate commercial trails, there’s a network of around 100 kilometers in Maifeld, whose highlight is the 40-meter-high viaduct over the Nettetal or two illuminated tunnels measuring 250 and 500 meters—a special treat. Family-friendly fun is the key here: on a disused, nearly flat railroad line between Münstermaifeld, Polch, Ochtendung, and Mayen, the Maifeld bike path offers hassle-free fun for young and old alike.
Young cyclists in particular can look forward to a very special stop on the short trip, which takes them on a pleasant 20-kilometer round trip between Polch and Münstermaifeld. In Mertloch, a lovingly designed nature and adventure recreation center has emerged, based on the latest findings in play-based education.
Your taste buds are also well catered to, as well-run restaurants line the bike path, offering, among other things, modern country cuisine and beer gardens.
