Vacation in on of the most romantic fishing villages on the southern North Sea

Our apartment is located in a quiet area in the old town of Ditzum, a fishing village, in a red-brick townhouse with two units. The apartment is on the upper level and is accessed via a private entrance. It is very well-equipped and has a cozy Frisian atmosphere. There are four sleeping spots available (beds; there is also a sofa bed). Two of the beds are located in the attic, where adults cannot stand upright. These beds are best suited for children. There is also a small bedroom with a bed approximately 170 cm long (for emergency use only).
The balcony is in the sun almost all day. A garden table and chairs invite you to enjoy breakfast or a cup of tea. Bicycles can be parked in a bike shed that belongs to the apartment. There is also a paved parking space for your car right next to the house.
All routes are easily accessible on foot or by bike. The fishing harbor, with its historic and modern boats, is just 300 meters away. Shops for daily necessities are about 200 meters away.
To ensure you’re not disturbed at night and can sleep comfortably, uninvited guests—such as tiny mosquitoes—are kept out by the proper window screens on the main bedrooms. For more information, please inquire.

Well-being and safety: Every year, Ditzum is always well ahead of the curve when it comes to being named the most beautiful village in Lower Saxony. Its idyllic location at the Dollard and Ems estuaries, along with the indescribable peace and quiet, make this place a hidden gem for those seeking to relax and disconnect from daily stress. Day trips to various cities such as Spandau, Emden, Groningen, or Papenburg are easily accessible in the surrounding area. When you return to our apartment, you’re immediately enveloped by Frisian hospitality. The setting exudes a cozy charm where it’s perfectly possible to take a break from exploring the beautiful Rheiderland landscape—even if the weather isn’t cooperating.
On the nearby Deep Canal, you can rent a canoe and enjoy the view of the village skyline from the water. The church tower and the windmill accompany your gaze as it wanders across the meadows where cows graze peacefully.

Houses and Location: Our house isn’t just for our guests. We, too, often go there to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and immerse ourselves in this village atmosphere.
Sustainable tourism is very important in Ditzum. We don’t want excessive tourism to destroy the village’s still-intact structures here.
The harbor is one of the few remaining Sielhafen on the North Sea coast. The shrimp boats based here leave their mark on this fishing village. In addition to crabs, which are still traditionally shelled on-site, fresh fish from the boats is also sold at the market stalls every day.
A variety of shops and restaurants round out the picture of a vacation spot set in the beautiful Frisian landscape.
Swimming areas are available about 4 kilometers away in neighboring Pogum, about 1 kilometer away, or at Dollard. A lake can be reached in about 10 minutes.
