Charming, authentic cabanon all to yourself on almost 7000 m2 of land

Excellent rustic provencial experience with all the necessities. Peaceful and close to everything in Luberon. Great stay for us!

A cosy rustic retreat located in a beautiful area. Old world farmhouse charm with modern facilities. We had a fantastic stay and would heartily recommend the property.

We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Provence. The cottage is very cute, it is small but had everything we needed. Would not hesitate to stay again.

It was a little difficult to imagine what exactly the property would be like from the photos, not because the photos are inaccurate, but because it's quite unusual and so full of its own unique qualities: e.g., it's bigger than it looks and curiously situated on the edge of a shallow quarry. The Cabanon is situated on the boundary between village life and wild woods and sculptural stone. It's ideal for what I needed: a quiet, peaceful place to be lazy — lounge in the sun or shade; to read, write, set off on expeditions to neighbouring villages; to engage in undisturbed runs each evening. I'd always had a reservation about Provence being posh-snobby, but found the Petit Luberon (the region) a completely wonderful mix of little bits of civilization and cultivation carved out of near wilderness. I fell in love and the property supported the affair! As I explored I discovered a path across the valley from Lacoste to Bonnieux and every other day I'd wander over for a glass of delightful rosé in the Club du Vin. The variations in landscape, the sudden views across the hills to Ventoux were a constant source of joy. If it seems that I'm celebrating the region more than the property, I find it hard to separate the two. The simple, clean welcome of the property integrated into the trees and rock made it and the region one. Praising the daily delights of the land and people is praise of the Cabanon, which kept me grounded and in touch with both. This is not a "grand" property; it doesn't overwhelm the location or your enjoyment of it. The kitchen, dining, sitting area is simple, countrified and with the door open, inside and outside flow into each other perfectly. The stairs down to the lower, bedroom floor are a bit steep and one needs to be cautious, but again it reflected the streets of Lacoste, which call for attention but reflect the spirit of place. The bedroom and bathroom on the lower floor, can also be left open onto the lower level of the quarry and provide simple comfort with light/shade and air moving between the two. This is an unusual property; not one for housebound seekers of luxury. It's better than that. Much much better. Stay and become part of Provence!

Une petite cabane plaine de charme très bien située

Das kleine Cabanon bietet alles, was man braucht. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt. Und der Abschied fiel uns wirklich schwer, nicht nur, weil der Urlaub vorbei war. In "echt" ist das Cabanon noch viel schöner. Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet, mit netten Details bei der Einrichtung. Schlüsselübergabe und Hausabgabe erfolgen problemlos. Die Lage des Hauses und der Ort selbst sind ideal für Ausflüge in die Umgebung (Gordes, Abbay de Sénanque, Roussillon, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, Avingnon, Pont du Gard, uvm.). Sogar ein Tagesausflug nach Cassis (ca. 100km) war möglich. Wir machten Ausflüge mit dem Auto oder den mitgebrachten E-Bikes. Lacoste ist ein nettes kleines, gepflegtes Dorf. Es bietet zwei Restaurants, die gutes Essen zu angemessenen Preisen anbieten. Wir waren auch in Bonnieux (ca. 5km) zum Abendessen, da gibt es mehr Auswahl an Restaurants. Den kleinen Laden im Ort haben wir nicht besucht. Wir erledigten die zwei "Grosseinkäufe" in Coustellet (ca. 12 km). Frische Lebensmittel für den täglichen Bedarf kauften wir unterwegs auf unseren Ausflügen ein. Die Vermieterin haben wir nicht persönlich getroffen, aber der Kontakt per Mail und WhatsApp war herzlich. Aufgrund unserer Statusfotos erfuhr sie von unserem Hochzeitstag während des Urlaubs und gratulierte herzlich. Das war eine unerwartete, aber nette Geste, worüber wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Wir können das "bezaubernde, authentische" Cabanon wirklich empfehlen: Ruhe und Wohlfühlen ist dort garantiert!!!
