We absolutely loved the week we spent at Katharine’s apartment! It was sparkling clean, had fantastic views, and was a nice cool sanctuary from the summer heat. It’s also clearly a personal country apartment lovingly cared for. Katharine was a responsive host and all went smoothly checking in and out. Be aware the entrance is up a short but very steep hill with a steep set of stairs right inside the door. We enjoyed eating our meals on the little balcony and would happily stay here again any day.

This delightful little apartment was absolutely perfect for our stay in the area. It has everything you need if you like to cook and "eat in". It is compact and well organized. The little terrace was wonderful - a great spot to have morning coffee or appies and wine. Katherine was a great communicator. We had trouble finding the place as our GPS was wrong and the charming little village of Lacoste is not traversable by car. Katherine guided us through the steps to get to her place, perched on the side of the cliff atop which sits the castle once owned by the Marquis de Sade. All in all, a perfect stay. Highly recommended!

This apartment in Lacoste was an ideal base for exploring the Luberon villages and countryside. We had a car so we learned how to find parking in the village. We rented e-bikes in Bonnieux and rode all over the valley, not using the car for days. The apartment is up a steep cobblestone lane, then steep entry stairs, and steep internal stairs. But all this “up” provides spectacular views, especially from the little patio. Our host Katharine was responsive and helpful throughout the process. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bed and bath were fine. We would definitely stay there again!

Katharine’s maison de village is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful villages in Southern France with stunning views of Bonnieux, another quaint medieval hilltop village, and the Luberon Mountains. It is a well-designed and nicely furnished home with the unique features of two very comfortable cave-like bedrooms built into the rock of the hillside and a terrace with fabulous views. My partner and I enjoyed five nights at the house which could easily accommodate two couples. We used it as our base to cycle around the Luberon Valley, which has routes for every level of cycling ability and many beautiful villages to explore. The house is also within an hour drive to Mt. Ventoux for epic climbs as well as Aix, Les Baux, St. Remy, and Avignon for visiting wonderful historic sites. We plan to return.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in Lacoste and the communication with Katharine was fantastic. We felt very welcomed. The house had everything we needed and the bedroom kept cool, for what was a very hot July! We loved sitting on the terrace and the views were absolutely beautiful.

keeping cool in hilltop village

this is a wonderful house, built into the hillside in a 'perched village'. Fantastic views from the terrace and the living room, but with bedrooms like caves, carved out of the solid rock, cool and dark and conducive to a very good night's sleep. The house is well-equipped and comfortable and we loved it. It should be noted that it is reached by a very steep cobbled road with no vehicle access and then steep steps up to the door, with more up to the living quarters. The village is delightful but much of it is now occupied by the Savannah College of Art and Design. There is no shop but there is a bustling cafe. The castle is interesting and unusual and we were able to attend a concert in the church and one of the weekly film showings in the Temple. There is plenty to do in the area, and vines, lavender, orchards and olives all around!

We spent a lovely week in this unique property. The balcony where we spent most of our time when we were in the property has an excellent view of the Hills of Luberon and neighbouring Bonnieux. The property is well equipped with things that a guest may need during the vacation. The property's decor is stylish. The real unique thing is that the bedroom is like a cave since part of the property when built was carved in the hillside. We loved the property and the village of Lacoste with its tiny streets and beautiful stone buildings. The nearby restaurant is a nice place to have dinner while you can enjoy the panaorama from its terrace. Lacoste is an excellent centre-point for visiting Provence's places of interest.

We loved our week stay in Lacoste at La Figue. Afternoons on the deck with tea, wine, or pastis while gazing down on the green fields and farms or across to the next village are sublime. Hikes through the forest, walks through the vineyards, and meandering drives to local markets will keep you busy. And should the weather turn, your own in house movie theatre! The best week of our 9 weeks in France!

La communication avec Katharine, l'accueil par Colette, l'emplacement et l'équipement de la maison... Et quel confort de pouvoir profiter de la fraîcheur de la maison durant les fortes chaleurs !

Die Ferienwohnung ist geschmackvoll und gut eingerichtet und abgesehen davon, dass durch die Bauweise in den Fels auch bei heißen Tagen eine angenehme Temperatur herrscht, schaffen die zwei höhlenartigen Schlafzimmer eine außergewöhnliche und stimmungvolle Atmosphäre. Auf der kleinen Terrasse haben wir gerne gefrühstückt und uns bei Tagesausklang mit einem Aperitif auf den Abend vorbereitet. Leider gibt es in diesem Dorf keine Möglichkeit mehr, an frisches Baguette zu kommen (keine Läden mehr vorhanden). Allerdings gibt es schräg gegenüber ein schönes Bistro-Restaurant mit herrlicher Aussicht und lokaler Küche. In Lacoste selbst verbreitet die dort angesiedelte SCAD tagsüber eine geschäftige Stimmung mit jungen Leuten und durch die während unserer Zeit stattfindende Mode Design Ausstellung abends eine durchaus positiv bizarre Atmosphäre. Wir haben unseren Urlaub in Lacoste und in dieser Wohnung sehr genossen.

Appartement idéalement placé qui domine le centre du village de Lacoste. Cette location offre une vue imprenable sur les alentours. Elle est joliment agencée et parfaitement équipée pour 4 personnes...On peut également profiter sans modération de cette petite terrasse pour prendre des petits cafés et des apéros...Vraiment très très bien !!!

Zeer comfortabele woning in een prachtig dorp! De woning is van alle gemakken voorzien en ligt zeer gunstig wanneer je steden als Avignon, Roussilon en Arles wilt bezichtigen. Lacoste is een mooi dorp van waaruit je verschillende mooie wandelingen kunt maken. Wij hebben er een heerlijke week gehad.
