About this house rental

Reconnect with family and friends while taking in the natural beauty of B.C.'s west coast! We welcome groups of up to 6 adults or 8 guests for groups that include children at Mystic Beach Vacation Home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an outdoor shower, hot tub and ping pong table. Full stainless steel kitchen, modern furnishings, hardwood and basalt tile floors, and vaulted timber ceilings. The open and airy zen-like space of the home and the incredible views are inspiring, uplifting and relaxing. This custom built timber frame home features Vancouver Island red cedar and Douglas fir.

Mystic Beach Vacation Home is a 5 minute drive to the most beautiful wild beaches and old growth trails on the south coast of Vancouver Island. Located at the high point of a quiet subdivision perfectly placed to take in 180 degree view of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains. A 30 minute drive west of Sooke, BC and one hour from Victoria, BC.

Explore Canada’s South Pacific! Just up the road (5 minute drive) from Jordan River, BC and the access points for China Beach and Mystic Beach, Juan de Fuca Marine Trail and Sombrio beach (the best surfing on Vancouver Island). The home faces south, so windows to the east allow the view of the sunrise and to the west, the sunset. When the fog rolls in down low most often you can still enjoy the sun from the large patio up here on the hill top.

Sit in the comfort of a bright open space and vaulted ceilings while you watch the ships roll in and out of the Juan de Fuca strait. Hardwood and basalt tile floors, blue marble counter tops in the kitchen, and stainless steel appliances make the home calming and comfortable with a true west coast vibe.

There is enough room for the whole family or a group of friends; a king bed in the master bedroom, two twins that easily convert to a king in the second upstairs bedroom and on the ground floor a private queen bed with second bathroom. This home sleeps 6 in bedrooms or 8 on futons. Please note the main living space (kitchen, living, dining, master bed, master bath, bedroom with 2 twins) is located on the upper level and the lower studio suite (tv room with 2 futons and queen bedroom open to en-suite) is accessed via the covered exterior staircase that connects the upper level to the patio area.

Soak in the deep tub in the main bathroom or the second bathroom or take in the views from the outdoor hot tub. Have fun playing on the professional ping pong table. For the adventurous, there is a small indoor climbing wall for the kids.

Enjoy the mountain and ocean views from the cottage or go out and explore the most beautiful trails and beaches in Canada. Mystic Beach, China beach and Jordan River are a 5 minute drive from the house, Sombrio is 20 minutes and Port Renfrew is 50 minutes away. Excellent accommodations to explore Vancouver Island’s best surf, wild and rugged coast line and rainforest trails. Curl up in the comfort of this beautiful space and reconnect with your family and friends!

Mystic Beach Vacation Home offers endless opportunities to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the west coast of British Columbia. This location is the perfect place to enjoy the most consistent and best surf and kite surf spots on the West Coast. Surf or kayak Jordan River, Sombrio and China Beach. It is an ideal location for family getaways, getaways with friends, surf holidays, kite board holidays, self guided kayaking adventures, honeymoons, or incentive vacations for employees and customers.

Discover ancient old growth trees in the forest or head to the beach to watch the seals, whales, sea otters and sea lions at play in the ocean. On the road to Port Renfrew and the Pacific Marine Circle Route.

Relaxing family getaway, especially with the hot tub and all the terrific games to play. Seven year old granddaughter absolutely loved the climbing wall too! Well stocked kitchen, baths games and comforts. Just looking out every window was relaxing - woodsy and ocean views! Just what we needed. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the panoramic view when the skies cleared and we saw a beautiful sunset and cruise ships passing by in the distance. The property had very spacious rooms on the main upstairs level; a large covered outdoor area on the ground level for kids to run around and play freely and safely; and a nice separate downstairs suite with tv room and couches which would be ideal for teenagers to feel like they had their own space or for grandparents to have a quiet space if it were a multi-generational family stay. We appreciated that this property allowed two dogs. The location was ideal for exploring both North and South from Port Renfrew to Sooke. Wish we had more time to enjoy the property during our three-night stay but a wedding and exploring the local beaches kept us out and about most of the time. The property’s kitchen was well equipped, but I have to admit there were a few times we pulled out a dish to use, and it was either covered with crumbs or had some leftover food still on it, which isn’t a biggie, but we wondered if the cleaning staff checked the dishes as part of their cleaning routine. The rest of the home was clean and comfortable and us five adults and two dogs felt very much at home. All the correspondence with the hosts leading up to our visit was fantastic and quick and the binder at the property had all the information we needed to answer any questions so we didn’t need to contact the host during our stay. PS - Guest Book was full so time for a new one!

Mystic Beach Vacation House was the perfect accommodation for our family to gather. The layout was ideal for our group that included, my husband and I, our 3 adult daughters and 2 grandkids, 8 & 9yrs old. The home is inviting, warm and comfortable. We arrived with groceries for the week, the kitchen left nothing to want for, it was well equipped. As were the bathrooms and bedrooms. We reached out to the property owners on two occasions. They were kind, and very responsive. The view of the Juan De Fuca straight, and Olympia park, from inside the home and on the deck, was spectacular! The location was perfect for our plans, to hike and explore the wild beaches between Sooke and Port Renfrew. We enjoyed the drive in both directions. We all had an incredible time and made memories to last forever. Thank you Marlena and Trevor for sharing your lovely home with kur family. Rihannon, Martin and family

We very much enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful home and had most things anyone would need. The shower was amazing and the added touch of the fragrant soaps was above and beyond. Our 5 year old loved the climbing wall and games. Beautiful hot tub and even played a few games of ping pong. Also plenty of seating to sit and chat in the evenings. It was also located in a beautiful area. A wish list item would definitely be a microwave though. The only issue was a problem with ants but did not deter our enjoyment and comfort too much. They also seemed to subside.

The pros: The view was absolutely spectacular and the house itself beautifully built and decorated. Kitchen and house are well stocked and Marlena was really responsive and helpful with her communication. There’s beautiful logging road trails right up the road from the house and once up there it’s super peaceful!!The cons: The third bedroom in the downstairs suite (completely separate from the upstairs two bedrooms) was really nice but the bathroom is in the bedroom which was challenging for our stay with young kids. We came for a really relaxing weekend and there was a bunch of building and noise/action in the neighbour property which is directly in front of the house/in clear view. The hot tub was also unfortunately broken for our stay which they made an effort to fix for us but was still quite disappointing as it was a huge selling factor in the booking. Overall though it is a beautiful place!
