Lovely couple greeted us on arrival. Persevered with conversation despite our lack of spanish 😂. Very nice home cooked meal for dinner for $10. Excellent pisco sour.

Luciano et son épouse nous ont accueillis avec une grande gentillesse et un grand professionnalisme. De nombreuses petites attentions comme nous amener à la forêt de nuages, de nombreuses explications sur la vie du village et des alentours et sans oublier la fameuse boisson canelazo! Un délice Mention spécial pour la cuisine délicieuse et le feu dans le poêle de la chambre le soir 🤗

This place offers incredible value for money. The accommodation was beautifully new, with lovely woodwork and warm local character, set in a gorgeous garden with a stunning view of the Quilotoa crater rim. The rooms were high quality, solid wood, spotlessly clean, and the beds were a dream — I slept incredibly well. The service from Mama Hilda and her whole team was simply fantastic — whether for special food requests, laundry, or any other request. Mama Hilda’s warmth and friendliness were truly something special. Dinner and breakfast were also wonderfully generous — we could never finish it all. We also loved connecting with fellow travelers staying there. This was honestly one of the highlights of our trip through Ecuador so far, and the price-to-quality ratio was almost hard to believe. We would love to come back, and we wish Mama Hilda and her hostel all the best in the beautiful, peaceful setting of Chugchilán.

Internet was a bit sketchy in our room, but not in the communal areas. Please note that there is very bad mobile phone signal in the village. Maybe the Internet can be improved.
