About this house rental
I built the Ecolodge myself from ecological materials. The house is 1 meter underground. This gives a cozy, safe atmosphere. The storage heater supplies the house with heat and emits heat for 13 hours after it has burned. There are other energy saving measures in the house such as solar panels, the use of shower water heat and water-saving showers. The house is also very well insulated. The house has 2 spacious bedrooms with homemade beds and mattresses made from natural materials. The sauna with heated outdoor shower is very nice in combination with the fireplace. Please bring your own bathrobes. There is also the necessary luxury such as 2 bathrooms with toilet and shower. Own sink in the bedrooms. Wifi, TV with Netflix and 6 German programs, a good Denon music installation with excellent boxes, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
The atmosphere in the house is inspired by the sea. With pearl shuttle on the wall, sea grass carpets and sea grass cladding. There are shells out there.
In front of the house there is a beautiful private terrace in the south with garden furniture.
The house is a 5-minute walk from the beautiful dunes and forest area of Schoorl. There are wide meadows around the corner with a view of the dunes. The house is located in a rural area between the artist village Bergen and Schoorl. There are many restaurants, cafes and shops in Bergen. Around the corner from the Ecolodge is a shop selling fresh organic bread and daily groceries. Bicycle rental is 100 meters away. The most beautiful beach is the beach of Schoorl. In the high season, 1 beach bar is open here. It can only be reached by bike. A wonderful trip.
The city of Alkmaar, famous for its cheese market, is 15 minutes away. Amsterdam 40 minutes by car or 30 minutes by train from Alkmaar.

Very comfortable, clean and lovely furnished house with any comfort you imagine. Also the surrounding garden is wonderful and lovely planted with flowes, fruitplants and some vegetables. Very nice and friendly landlords that are concerned about the guests. Thank you for the relaxed stay.

Johan and Wendela’s place is a perfect base for exploring the Bergen and Schoorl area. We had a wonderful stay as a family and enjoyed numerous bike rides, walks and beach days. The cabin is beautifully designed, well equipped, and clean, and the beds and couch are very comfortable for sleeping and lounging. The outdoor area is nice for reading a book or having a glass of wine. Johan and Wendela were lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating and provided everything we needed, including bikes for us to use and tips for what to do and where to shop. We will definitely come back again!
