Amazing stay with family and our dog

The cabin was beautiful and suited us perfectly. We arrived very late at night, instructions are easy to follow to find and get in. There was 3 adults 1child 1 dog in our party, The cabin was clean, Beds cozy and warm, fire was lovely after long cold wet walks! Played boards games everyday. We took a drive down to Dobbys beach ( freshwater west) if you’re a Harry Potter fan you will like this! We went for a roast at the black lion inn which was lovely! Aberdyfi beach also stunning! Hennighan’s fish and chips the best! We also spent a day and half at the Mach loop if your in to planes this is a must see be prepared for a long walk and waiting tho! Our stay was very wet and cold but it didn’t stop us going out to explore. We loved our stay so much we made so many memories that we won’t forget, we will definitely be back! Thank you! Great place for a quiet and relaxing stay, enjoyed all the wildlife that was around.

Nice quiet location with beautiful views. Cabin had everything needed for a comfortable stay, very clean and the bottle of Prosecco was a nice surprise. Log burner was awesome especially as we had a couple of chilly nights.

The cabin looked a little bit tired on the outside which didn’t reflect how nice it was inside

Little Kestrel Cabin - the perfect hideaway for a relaxing break away

We had an amazing stay at Little Kestrel Cabin. The cabin is clean, well equipped, with beautiful views and is so peaceful. The location is perfect for the beach, mountain and hill walking with local places to eat or buy food. The hosts provided all the information we needed before our arrival. We had two dogs with us and the enclosed balcony at the front of the property was perfect for them to chill out in the sunshine. This is one of the best places we have stayed and will definitely be returning next year.

Super cozy lodge, perfect for couples, family or a romantic getaway.

It was super cozy and had everything we needed for our weekend away. The lodge was very clean and the additional things, such as fleece blankets, made it so comfortable. The views from the terrace are just lovely.

A Peaceful Getaway at Kestrel Cabin

We recently stayed at Kestrel Cabin near Pennal and had a fantastic time. The cabin is tucked away in the hills with breathtaking views—honestly, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Tracy & David were great hosts, extremely communicative, they ensured that we had everything that we needed during our stay. There were 4 adults and 2 dogs in our group, and the space was more than comfortable for all of us. While the garden isn’t secure, the lane leading up to the cabin is very quiet, which worked well for our well-behaved dogs. One thing to note: we didn’t feel entirely comfortable walking straight from the cabin due to the narrow road and limited passing areas, but there are plenty of stunning walks just a short drive away. All in all, a peaceful and cosy base to explore the area—we wouldn’t hesitate to return and have already recommended it to friends!

Lovely Kestrel

I loved the location, we didn't see or hear a soul the whole time we were there. The views out towards the river were amazing. It's such a beautiful area, and so much to do and see, without it being overrun with tourists. Best chippie ever in Aberdyfi!

The only negative was that I found the seating very uncomfortable. I have chronic illnesses, and I am probably more sensitive than most to discomfort.

Peace, gorgeous surroundings and the sounds of nature! Exactly what we wanted

Everything we needed was there including things we didn't know we needed! The bottle of bubbles was a lovely touch and the setting and scenery were amazing! Contact with the hosts was easy and we found out way about no problem. The guest book was really useful too 😁

Less than one toilet roll on arrival lol Our own fault but we managed to use the wrong entry road the first day. No bird feeder but we bought one and it was the best £4 I've ever spent!

Beautiful cabin with amazing views. Very comfortable 3 night stay with my family. Host was great with directions as it could be tricky without.

Great location, unfortunate weather, cosy and relaxing.

The location is great, very quiet but close to several different towns including Aberdyfi which has a large beach and some shops and pubs. The beds are comfy, the cabin is cosy, the outside areas are really nice with great views. The instructions for how to get there and arrival were very thorough. It rained almost the whole time we stayed but the views from inside are nice too.

The driveway and parking are quite difficult especially if you have a big car. There isn't much space for a cot (we had our toddler with us). No bath (not completely necessary but handy if you have a baby/toddler).

A beautiful stay in a very special place.

The cabin had everything we needed and more. The setting is idilic and there are walks you can do right from the property. It was also great just sitting and looking out at the view and the wildlife. Our stay surpassed our expectations!

The views were exceptional along with incredible birdsong and sightings. The cabin was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Loved the decor and paintings around the cabin. We mostly spent time outside enjoying the outdoors and views. Loved it.

A relaxing and beautiful stay

We loved the location: quiet but within easy reach of so many places. The cabin is lovely, the beds very comfortable and we had all we needed for a few days away. We spent time relaxing, enjoying the views and listening to the late April birdsong. Other days we visited Barmouth, Cader Idris and Machynlleth. We can recommend the beautiful 20 minute walk to Pennal to enjoy a Sunday Lunch or evening meal at The Riverside - a Community-run pub.

I don’t know where to start. Beautiful view from the cabin. It’s great to have 3 different seating areas outside. The cabin is very well equipped and very nicely decorated and cleaned. The direction for the cabin and how to check in was very clear. We would return again.

Everything about the cabin exceeded our expectations! The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, there are 3 terraces with seating to choose from (one being off the master bedroom). The location was amazing; only a ten minute drive to a lovely town called Machynlleth, and a scenic 15 minute drive to Aberdyfi beach. We visited with our toddler and she loved seeing all of the wildlife around the cabin!

Lovely and relaxing quiet stay

The property was exactly what me and my wife were after. A secluded cabin in the Welsh countryside. It has 3 bedrooms and all the amenities you’d want for a short stay, or even longer.

Slight issue with locking the doors, as the key got stuck in the door, but I’m sure that was a one off rather than a consistent issue and David was quick to reassure it wouldn’t be a problem

Perfect little retreat getaway

Little Kestrel Cabin was a fabulous little holiday retreat. Enjoyed waking up every morning to the stunning views, watching the bird life . Perfect for peace and quiet. I particularly liked our room which led outside into a secluded garden . The kitchen was well equipped and had good facilities. David and Tracy were very accommodating sending us very detailed instructions how to find the cabin Loved the fact it was tucked out of the way.

Couldn't fault the cabin only wished we had more dry than wet days to enjoy sitting outside.

We recommend this secluded cabin.

The cabin was in a fantastic location- quiet, beautiful scenery and it was equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds, cosy lounge and interesting Kestrel themed decorations. The book of instructions is very detailed which was helpful. It would also be nice to have a book of recommendations of local things to do -hikes, cafes etc. Watching the birds on the feeder was delightful and the swing was a nice addition. The countryside is stunning and we enjoyed hiking.

It was a shame that the BBQ is not allowed but understandable!
