We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It’s very homey and quiet. The only thing we would change is the seating…the chairs, recliner and couch are very uncomfortable for extended periods of sitting. Otherwise it was awesome. And the wild turkeys were a plus…

Overall, we had a wonderful week at this cabin. It is small, but that is explained in the details. There was a propane grill on site that was rusted out and very dirty so we had to change our grilling plans. Otherwise, we enjoyed making great memories as a family.

My sister, niece & I had a nice stay in this cabin. It was comfortable & well equipped, but not fancy. We come to the Smoky Mountains every fall to escape the Florida heat & enjoy the gorgeous autumn foliage. This was our first time to Maggue Valley. We were greeted by a large flock of turkeys on our arrival and saw them several more times during our stay. The cabin is actually right in town which makes it super convenient. It is not as secluded as it appears in the pictures. The neighbors are pretty close, so if you're looking for seclusion & privacy this cabin isn't for you. The gas fireplace was easy to operate and kept the cabin toasty warm on some of the chillier nights. The kitchen was well stocked. The decor is pretty dated, and we noticed the total lack of floor coverings. No carpet, area rugs, or even a bath mat! I guess this could be a plus for those with allergies, but for us the wood & tile floors got quite chilly. Bring your socks & slippers! The hot tub cover was quite heavy and we were only able to open it half way. The beds were comfortable. The dresser in the downstairs bedroom only had one functional drawer, and no hangers in the closet. If you're staying more than a night or two, you'll have to bring your own paper towels, TP and soaps. The owners are very picky about their commercial grade white towels & washcloths. There were two different laminated signs in the cabin admonishing guests on how to use the appropriate "rags" rather than their good towels for make-up removal. One sign lists the inflated prices guests will be charged if they dare to stain any of the white towels. I have never stayed in a VRBO that required guests to remove all their own trash from the property, even though there was a large garbage can outside the cabin and we observed garbage pick up circle through the neighborhood. Charging guests $50 extra for trash pick-up seems excessive on top of all the other additional service fees! Overall, I'd give this cabin a C.
