The house offers 1 main bedroom en-suite and two separate bedrooms with a communal bathroom between them. Main bedroom has a queen XL bed, bedroom 2 has a double bed and bedroom three has two single beds. A gorgeous swimming pool to cool off in the hot summer, open planning living area with an indoor braai facilities with glass stack doors opening up to your own private pool area and garden. There are two garages that lead directly into the house and two undercover parking bays which offer protection against the weather.
A bit about Somerset West:
Somerset West lies in the Helderberg Basin, surrounded by an amphitheatre of mountains, between the Cape Winelands and False Bay. It is a 20min drive from Cape Town’s International Airport.
The Helderberg Nature Reserve, a 363 hectare natural wildlife preserve opened in 1964, contains a wide variety of smaller fauna (buck, tortoises and other reptiles) and outstanding specimens of indigenous flora such as protea and fynbos.
The historic town of Stellenbosch is reachable via either the R44 or Baden Powel Road (approx 18 km/11 min away). The area between Somerset West and Stellenbosch also encompasses many vineyards and wineries (e.g. Rust-en-Vrede, Lourensford, Alto, J.P. Bredell, Blauwklippen, JC Le Roux, Neethlinghof and many more) where visitors can sample and purchase wine. The oldest remaining vineyard in South Africa, Vergelegen, is situated on the outskirts of Somerset West. The buildings on the estate constitute fine examples of Cape Dutch architecture. Spectacular Christmas Carols are held in December, yearly on this farm.
Strand beach is a 10min drive from the Estate. With its five kilometer long stretch of white sand, Strand Beach is a perfect family beach for swimming, sunbathing and a variety of marine sports. There’s even a tidal pool for anyone who is not brave enough to plunge into the mellow surf. And if its waves you’re after, there are a number of surf spots to suit every level of surfer.
