Hôtel Louvre-Lens - Esprit de France

Really interesting conversion of historic buildings into an atmospheric and very comfortable and welcoming hotel - including towards our dog. Great breakfast and bed and careful sourcing of all elements of the offering. Right by Louvre Lens which is stunning.

Very stylish hotel, not a chain-feel

Room was excellent - well equipped witha great shower and very comfortable bed, though the decor was a bit dark. The staff on reception were quite charming and truly multilingual. Reception area was spacious but with nooks of privacy. We were there on a Sunday night so the restaurant was closed, but the cold platters and champagne alternative were a delight.

Finding parking - our sat-nav didn’t agree with the reality on the ground. Tbf that was easily resolved…

Great for visiting the Louvre Lens Museum across the road. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, the breakfast amazing, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The bathroom toiletries were high quality and the place was super clean, tidy and well designed. There's a lovely garden to sit and read in, and games (chess table, billiards and 'baby foot') indoors. Great with A/C too in the hot weather. Parking was easy, at the back of the hotel. You also get a free glass of champagne, which was a nice touch.

Rooms facing the front (roadside) are slightly noisy which the hotel is aware of, as they supply earplugs; we asked to switch rooms to the back but it was full. We slept pretty well anyway, but if you are sensitive to road noise, ask for a room facing the garden.
