Buttercup Cottage, an idyllic Northumberland superior stone cottage in a superb location - beautifully set amidst 230 acres of tranquil parkland overlooking Burgham Park golf course - in beautiful rolling countryside between the historic Market Towns of Alnwick and Morpeth - a private relaxing retreat within the heart of Northumberland - an ideal base for exploring the delights of the area.
Perfect for celebrating special occasions, indulging in romantic getaways, or unwinding with the family - the ideal Northumberland self-catering accommodation for a weekend or mid-week break, or longer....a rich heritage of majestic castles, spectacular coastlines, breathtaking scenery and excellent outdoor pursuits await nearby.
Lovingly furnished and equipped, Buttercup Cottage sleeps up to 6 in 3 spacious en-suite bedrooms, all with flat screen TV. Two of the bedrooms and bathrooms are on the ground floor, with the upstairs occupied by the master suite and open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge area, complete with wood burning stove. A balcony accessed from the lounge overlooks the sweeping greens of beautiful Burgham Golf Course, providing a peaceful and tranquil base for your holiday.
The Golf club house is small and friendly, and open to non-members with a quiet bar and patio seating, overlooking the course - serving food and is only a short walk away from the cottage.
The cottage appeals to those seeking the luxury and freedom of self-catering living whilst being part of the tranquil Northumberland countryside. Ideally located overlooking the golf course and countryside beyond, close to the clubhouse - this lovely Cottage will provide the perfect home from home experience in a great location surrounded by the treasures of Northumberland.
The first floor balcony has far reaching views, a spacious patio area overlooks communal landscaping, and two allocated car parking spaces are provided in front of the cottage.
Internally it benefits from light and spacious accomodation, a lovely open-plan living and dining area, windows on two elevations with plenty of natural light - large flat screen TV, with DVD, and direct access to the balcony, a fully equipped social kitchen, three spacious double en-suite bedrooms and utility room.

Enjoyable visits to sights, old and new. Excellent Sunday lunch at the Northumberland Arms in Felton and a seriously good lunch at The Running Fox (booking essential).

The welcome pack and all the local information was much appreciated - we found it easy to navigate our way round and although we've had 7 full days - we still could not fit in all we wanted to do (Cragside was amazing).
I'm sure we will be back!!

Had a fantastic time staying in Buttercup Cottage and was an excellent base to explore the wider area. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for weeks stay. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony to watch the golfers passing in the evening. Did not use the nearby clubhouse however did enjoy a couple of evening walks around the course. Beautiful quiet county location however actually only a short drive away from the main A1 made visiting various locations very easy and straightforward. Would highly recommend Buttercup Cottage. We were lucky to book for a few days at very short notice. A lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and looking newly refurbished, all the equipment and facilities we needed, a comfortable bed, quiet at night and an excellent shower upstairs. One of the best we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in a few over the last fifty years! We wondered if we might be disturbed by the road works nearby in connection with the scattering of new houses opposite, but it was minimal. A beautiful area, lots to see and do, we’d love to come back.
