Cosy but beware of parking issues

Lovely apartment which was warm and cosy in a good location.

The "free" parking in the side road is quite a misleading claim. The parking is free but only for 8 hours and you need to use a parking clock. Be very careful as the traffic wardens are everywhere and will fine you if you go over the time limit (€60!) which is almost guaranteed when you stay overnight, especially as you have no reason to look for parking restrictions when the property specifically says it's free.

A great base for exploring Lapland!

Great location, cooking facilities and very friendly staff that were flexible with check in and check out times—we were very appreciative.

I had initially thought that we had booked a twin room with two beds, but as it turned out, there was just the one.

Not worth the money!

Location.

Not worth the money! We paid around 300 euros for what turned out to be a shabby, poorly maintained place for this price. The apartment was in a bad condition. Absolutely no attention to detail, no feeling of cleanliness or quality, and definitely no value for money. On top of that, communication was terrible. We tried to contact the property multiple times via Booking.com before arrival and never received a single reply. Overall, this place felt like a cash grab, taking advantage of tourists while offering a substandard experience. We genuinely felt ripped off. I strongly recommend avoiding First Aparthotel Blitzen and spending your money elsewhere — almost anywhere would be better than this.

Overnight work stay

Excellent location for the railway station- I had an early train and work nearby.

The property was exactly as described and served its purpose for a one night stay at a very reasonable price. Furnishings etc were rather minimal and if I were to stay longer I would wish for a cosier feel. It didn’t detract from my stay.

It is near center and bus station.

Lack some little mantainance and fix, ie sink drain, kitchen furniture, shower. Cleaning could be improved. Host doesn't answer to messages.

It took me a while to find the place as it’s an apartment in an apartment block and it’s accessed from a side street and the entrance is at the back. It would be good to make this clearer in the access instructions.

No free parking, and very dirty flat!

It was the worst! Floor was full of dust, no towel, rotten dirty kettle. Cannot believe how can someone rents there with such a condition. Moreover, we rented there cause owner told there was a free parking cross the street. And we did that, we parked there and we had a park fine! Such a lie, free parking. Owner should refund us because of those reasons.

Great for overnight stay

Our studio apartment in Rovaniemi was perfectly for an overnight stay. It was small but well organised, and ideally located on the edge of the city centre. Very clean and modern. WiFi excellent. Good shower. Lift. No parking, but we parked for free on the street 100m away.

The only things we felt would be useful to supply for guests in ther kitchen were filter papers for the coffee machine (it blocks up really easily without one), and a tea towel for drying dishes.

Excellent location, close to the train station and close to the center of Rovaniemi. Practical and comfortable apartment with supermarkets and convenience stores in front. Excellent bed and great shower. Niina, the owner, helped us with the taxi and indicated a luggage storage for us to leave our bags until check-in. Thank you for our first stay.

It’s cozy, small but functional, and in a very good position!

It was a little bit too warm inside (but probably there was a way to lower the heater that we didn’t know)

The appartement has everything what is needed, including a washing machine. It is not far from the train station.

Complicated to get there and find the place where to pick up the key. The space is tiny, no space for luggage.

it’s a new flat.

You need to pick up your key from a restaurant which is 8 minute walk and 16 minutes for return in total. During the summer, it will be fine. However, you would not like to walk this far with big luggages in the winter when the weather is freezing and snowing. Plus, the flat is subdivided into two flats, so please expect it is small and everything is tiny. With this price, u can find a proper size flat in the city centre.

Do yourselves a favor, spend a few extra bucks and go to a better hotel

The bed was comfortable and the pillows were good. The bathroom was decent. I'm glad there was an elevator. The room had all the necessary essentials.

1. A check-in. Since they don't have an actual reception, you have to go to a restaurant to collect keys. 2. No luggage storage, except at the same restaurant in a very public location where anyone can steal your bags. You have to accommodate their work hours too. The worst part was having to walk with a large suitcase for almost 10 minutes in snow. To draw you a picture of that misery, I'd much rather clean up dog vomit from a carpet while wearing high heels than having to roll the luggage in snow for 10 mins. 3. The disclaimer said that they can provide taxi service. I was just given a business card of a taxi company and was told to call them. Luckily, there was a hotel nearby where I got cabs from until the receptionist told me about an app. FYI, there's no Uber in Rovaniemi. 4. High temperature in the room. The room was unbearably hot( 83-85F) and I had no way of adjusting the heat. Slept with the window wide open, otherwise it was impossible to stay there.

Exceptional

Clear instructions on how to collect key and how to enter property. Property was clean, quiet, warm and very comfortable, equipped with everything we needed and everything was within walking distance. Supermarket was over the road, and also a corner shop was opposite the apartment block. Would definitely stay there again and I will recommend to others. We really enjoyed our stay here

The apartment block was set back off the street so wasn’t sure if it was the correct block- local person also wasn’t sure if it was the correct apartment block but when I tried the key in the main door at the back it opened!
