The hosts were amazing. They were super friendly, welcoming, and always quick to respond whenever we had a question. They even gave us a map with all the main attractions marked on it, which was really helpful. Sergio also gave us clear directions from the train station, so finding the apartment was very easy. The room was very clean, and it was cleaned every day during our stay. I'd definitely recommend this place to any friends visiting Florence!

Small guesthouse with only 5 rooms. Great location, at the edge of the city center, in a much quieter neighborhood then the crazy tourist-filled city center. Still only about 15 min. walk from the Duomo so all major attractions are within walking distance, and 30 min. walk to the train station (straight through the city center, quite a pleasant walk) (or take the bus). Easy to reach from the airport by the tramway to the station and the bus from there (or walk). No need to rent a car if Florence is your only destination (also Pisa and Siena are within easy reach by train). Very friendly and helpful hosts who will tell you a lot about sightseeing, nearby restaurant options, public transportation (they also sell the tickets that are valid on town buses and trams), etc. Also very accommodating with offering a way to let us store our luggage after check-out. Very clean and comfortable room and private bathroom (toilet+shower, no tub) with excellent sound proofing from the street below, though a little less so from the internal hallway (so please keep your fellow guests in mind in the morning and evening). The guesthouse offers no breakfast or other food service. This we knew in advance so it's not a big deal, especially as there are a few great breakfast, lunch and dinner places and of course many more in the city center. We recommend nearby Caffe Pasticceria Serafini for coffee+pastries for breakfast and Trattoria Il Barrino for dinner.

Note that the guesthouse is on the 4th floor - if I remember correctly it's 74 steps up. There is a small elevator but it's for luggage only, so this location is not suitable for people who have trouble climbing stairs. Note you have to pay city tourist taxes in cash upon arrival, so have some cash at hand.
