La Caytispa

Location - approx 10 mins from bus station (don’t use google maps to get there!) and only a couple of minutes from beach, shops, restaurants and harbour. The kitchen was very well equipped.

Apartment 2A - we were directly above the restaurant’s outdoor seating so it was noisy while the restaurant was open (ear plugs solved this). Also there was a very bright street lamp outside which filtered in round the blinds so it was never fully dark. We also felt the beds and bedding could do with updating. None of this would stop us staying again but we would take eye masks next time.

Appartment has ALMOST all you need. Very clean. Fantastic common terrace with views over the town and sea. Close to the beach. The family who runs the hotel and nearby restaurant seem like very nice people!

Our room was on the first floor, with one window towards the main entrance and another towards the restaurant. As result, it is very noisy in the room until around 1 a.m. and sometimes even in the middle of the night (voices from the guests, owners/stuff, kitchen noises, people slamming the door etc), and we also had cigarette smoke and light from the street coming into the room. The owners and restaurant staff would often had "afterworks" until very late (which is understandable but nonetheless disturbing). The feeling was similar to when I had to overnight at a railway station in New York. We knew this could be a problem in the very touristic Puerto de Mogan. We didn't plan to stay there and this was an emergency solution. So we don't blame anyone. Just wanted to share our experience so people know what they are booking. P.S. It would be nice to have cooking oil, salt and soap in the room. We had to buy own and it is a waste when you just stay for a few days.
