About this apartment rental
Our beautiful apartment is situated in the heart of Lapa/ Santos, it's a very bright apartment and has been totally renovated. It is on the 1st floor of what was once one house. The living room is at the front of the apartment as you can see from the photos, it has an exquisite ceiling and doors open onto a small dining area. It has 2 double bedrooms, one of which was the old chapel of the house a bathroom with a spacious shower and a fully equipped fitted kitchen that includes a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge,freezer oven, hob, microwave, coffee machine. A rear balcony overlooks a private garden belonging to the apartment below. The apartment has electric heating and freestanding fans for the summer months also internet, cable tv and a music centre.
The apartment is in the embassy area of Lisbon and although it is quite near to the centre it is also quiet at night so you can get a good night sleep before exploring the city.
It's is close to the Basilica and Jardim da Estrella (10 minutes walk) but also close to the River.
There are lots of restaurants ( from cheap tascas to more upmarket and everything in-between), the same goes for the bars,there are little shops, supermarkets and a newsagents. Everything you could possibly need is close by. We are also very close to the National Museum of Ancient Art ( Museu Nacional da Arte Antiga) ,among the paintings you can see a wonderful Heironymus Bosch tryptic, the Museum has a beautiful garden overlooking the river where you can have coffee and a superb chocolate and walnut gooey cake). Close by is also the Museum of Marionettes ( Museu da Marioneta) .
We have owned the apartment for 8 years and we absolutely love it, we have been living on the Algarve for over 30 years and whenever we can we like to use it ourselves. There is so much we still need to explore, it's a fascinating city and we feel extremely honored to own this gorgeous apartment in this very special neighborhood..
Because of it's location you can just about walk anywhere but you also have the choice of buses trams and taxis that you can catch from the bottom of the road. We are also very near the train station of Santos where you can take a train along the coast up to Cascais ( It's a beautiful ride).

We were met by Panama who showed us through the property. Property was clean and well located for access to Belem and downtown. Great pizza place down the street and coffee spot on the corner. Great indoor food market (can't remember exact name though)to purchase meals within walking distance. Lots of different foods to choose from. Can you tell we liked it?

The apartment was perfect. The host was lovely and helpful. The unit is slightly smaller then the photos appear but still an incredible place and we lived every minute of our stay.

Communication with host and check-in was easy using WhatsApp. Location is close to transportation (buses, trams, trains). Grocery and several restaurants nearby. Flat is spacious and airy.
Unfortunately, we arrived on Saturday night to a loud neighborhood party that went on until 1:30. During the week, the upstairs neighbor was up and noisy by 6:30 and the downstairs neighbor was active until 23:00. We used the smaller middle bedroom the entire week rather than the main bedroom. If you are light sleepers, be aware. The upstairs neighbors were somewhat responsive, but the downstairs neighbor seemed almost resentful of renters.
The kitchen is modestly appointed; the dining space is uninviting. The host’s artwork is brilliant but the overall apartment needs to be refreshed.
