About this house rental

Imagine a pod of dolphins playing in the Bay whilst you sit eating your breakfast? Many of our lucky guests have experienced exactly this! Rinsey Head is undoubtedly the best positioned house in South West Cornwall, located on an unspoiled stretch of coast near Porthleven; with breath-taking views to the Lizard and all the way across Mounts Bay to Lands End. The house perches on the edge of Rinsey Head and sits in grounds of approximately 30 acres making the house completely private – you feel almost like you are on your own island! Rinsey Head was built in the early twentieth century and is architecturally designed to maximise the views in every direction.
Despite its dramatic location Rinsey Head is an incredibly comfortable and welcoming family home, which exudes a real sense of adventure; on a beautiful summer day relax on the patio and drink in the views whilst a variety of seabirds circle above or on a wild Cornish day snuggle up in the cosy living room and watch the waves crashing below. The ideal choice for your family adventure or the ultimate choice for a special occasion.

You approach the house down a long driveway with breath-taking views in all directions, there is parking outside the front door for at least 3 cars, and plenty of room along the middle part of the driveway for any additional cars. There is a spectacular patio area, accessed from a door between the sitting & dining room, an ideal spot for sundowners or a barbeque in the evening. The house is surrounded (on 3 sides) by private land, largely in its natural state, growing a mixture of wild flowers, heather, bracken and gorse. The coastline either side of the house is owned by the National Trust. There is a private garage available for guests which is the ideal place to store beach clobber, surf boards etc; there is a tumble drier and spare drinks fridge in the garage.
Rinsey Headland offers stunning walks, either a spectacular circular loop or for the more energetic continue on the coastal path to Porthleven for a well earned cider at The Ship pub. There is a beautiful beach at Rinsey which is a 10 minute walk from the house (pretty strenuous walk back up!) or take the coastal path heading west and a 15-20 minute walk will bring you to the mile long sandy beach at Praa Sands. A perfect family beach with bars / restaurant at the far end, good surfing and life -guarded in season. Praa Sands is a 10 minute drive from the house, with plenty of parking at the far end.
The property is a haven for walkers being situated on the coastal path with fabulous walks on both sides.

The ground floor is made up of a large, comfortable sitting room with sofas, bean bags, flat screen TV and armchairs. There is a new kitchen with a cosy Aga, further standalone electric oven and hob, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher, microwave and nespresso machine. The kitchen and dining room are open plan making it the perfect area for entertaining. the dining room has a large table seating 10 and more spectacular sea views. There is downstairs loo on this level.
The First Floor offers two large master bedrooms - The Rinsey room offers a super king bed (can be split into singles if requested in advance) with ensuite bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and basin. The second master bedroom - The Praa Room is a large room with King size bed, 2 seater sofa and ensuite bathroom with shower enclosure, WC and basin. Both bedrooms offer incredible sea views. There is a further family bathroom on this floor with bath, separate shower enclosure, basin and WC, with airing cupboard perfect for drying items.
A small landing leads to the Turret Room, a single bedroom with basin. The staircase leads to the top floor with two twin beds, basin and a set of bunk beds and further incredible sea views in all directions.

Facilities & Services: Inclusive electricity, central heating and wifi broadband. The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels and beach towels are included in the price.

Miscellaneous: Due to the nature of this spectacular location whilst welcome at Rinsey Head young children and pets must be strictly supervised at all times, the owners cannot take responsibility for safety in the grounds of the house. Pets allowed, max 2 unless agreed otherwise. Changeover day Thursday.

Comfortable, cosy, homely - we absolutely loved and adored this place. It's not glitzy, it's welcoming. It's like the much loved aunt who will always love you in return, as opposed to the glamorous colleague who's fab but doesn't return your call. I cannot imagine a better place to spend a week or two - go and experience peace, beauty, never-go-out-of-fashion style and......relax.....

Wonderful Rinsey Head a perfect location
Wonderful Rinsey Head a perfect location
Rinsey Head is a large and spacious property in a magical and scenic location. It has an unobstructed sea view from almost all of the rooms in the house. The ground floor has a large kitchen area and is well stocked with equipment and appliances making it easy to cater for large groups of people. Also on the ground floor there is a large dining room and lounge which lead onto an expansive balcony area overlooking the sea, perfect for al fresco meals although unfortunately during our stay we were unable to take advantage of that facility due to the weather but that's to be expected in December. Upstairs the bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious . The coastal path is easily accessed for those who wish to walk to nearby Praa Sands or Porthleven. I cannot fault the location or the property and the property manager was extremely helpful and ensured that our stay was perfect.

    Amazing!
    Amazing!
Second Christmas at Rinsey Head and it doesn’t get much better than this! Surrounded by the Atlantic with wild seas. Coastal path on the doorstep. Stunning scenery. We were delighted to see two choughs as we hiked the path to Porthleven - choughs were the Cornish symbol but left Cornwall, and now a few are back and breeding. The house is super- comfortable and warm - especially considering its location. A privilege to stay here.

Very helpful property manager. The terrace is the star of the show. It's quite exposed so we only sat out on the sunny calmer days. Great views from all the windows especially the large ones downstairs. Liked the fact that they were plane glass rather than the usual distracting 'lead' affect windows. Liked how the downstairs rooms were all open to each other. Found the Aga ovens quite tricky. The top one runs a bit too hot and the lower one too cool. I think some rooms would benefit from some redecoration or modernisation. However this in no way affected a very enjoyable stay. I think some binoculars would be a good addition. We look forward to returning.

Lovely property. Exactly as described. A little more cupboard space for food would be good. It was home from home and nothing could spoil the best views in Cornwall.

    Privilege to stay here! Fabulous!
    Privilege to stay here! Fabulous!
Fabulous house in amazing location. We saw pods of dolphins swim past on several days. Also the excitement of the Coastguard helicopter flying over with, I could swear, Santa waving at me from the open door of the helicopter on Christmas Day! House was lovely and warm, and the Aga perfect to cook our Christmas goose in. The owners kindly left a nice tree and lots of goodies like mince pies, chocs etc which were much appreciated. Beds comfortable, enough bathrooms to make mornings easy. Beautiful footpath and hiking on the doorstep. Truly a privilege to stay in such a stunning property.
