About this house rental
Merlins is a modern five-bedroom house, accepting dogs and with parking for two cars. A short walk from the beautiful and often deserted mile long stretch of the golden sands at Porthkidney and the West of Cornwall Golf Club, around the bay from St Ives and within a short drive of St Michael’s Mount, Gwithian and Godrevy. Merlins is perfectly situated to explore the whole of the West Cornwall Peninsula and to take advantage of the huge array of arts, cultural, sporting and outdoor activities that are on offer. Within easy walking distance there is a variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes to sample local delights.
The spacious open-plan lounge and dining area provides the perfect setting for spending quality time with family and friends. The lounge features a Smart TV and plenty of comfortable seating, creating a welcoming space to relax. The adjoining dining area includes a large table that seats up to ten, ideal for family meals and social gatherings. Patio doors lead directly out to the courtyard garden, where outdoor seating offers a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed for a self-catered stay, including an integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, and microwave. There is also the added convenience of a separate utility room with a washing machine and WC. Just off the hallway, a dedicated study provides a quiet space for those who may need to work during their stay. When work is done, guests can also enjoy a selection of books and games available for everyone to use.
On the first floor there is a master bedroom with king size bed and TV. There is a walk-in wardrobe with drawers and an en-suite with shower, wash hand basin and WC. Also situated on this floor, is the second bedroom with double bed and the third bedroom with two single beds. Both rooms have hanging space and ample storage. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash hand basin and WC. On the top floor there are two further bedrooms one with a king size bed and the other room has two single beds. There is a further bathroom with bath with shower over, wash hand basin and WC.
To the front of the property there is a small front garden with seating for two to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the world go by. The courtyard has a BBQ and seating to while away the time planning your next day’s adventures. To the rear of the property there is a parking space and a garage for a second car if needed.

Two Well Behaved Dogs are Welcome – A £20.00 charge per dog per week applies. Please note that dogs must not be left in the holiday home unattended or allowed on any furniture.

Access Statement – Merlins is accessed from the parking space via one small step through the back door. Access is also possible through the front door of the holiday home with no steps.

The house has a good layout, nicely proportioned and is in a good location. It was clean and tidy, with only a few things that didn't work as they should.

Lacks some kitchen equipment. Frying pans. Lemon squeezer tea strainer. BBQ tongs. Lacks a garden table to eat from. Only coffee tables. Found the garden umbrella in the garage on the last day. Would have been useful to know this earlier. The mattresses on the twin beds in the loft need upgrading. They are very uncomfortable. All 3 bathrooms need toilet roll holders. Odd not to have them?. No where outside to dry costumes & towels without taking the airier out _ & then there is no room to sit. Very small yard. Not shown on the adverts. WORST PART WAS A HORRID RUDE NEIGHBOUR Who shouted at us if we placed one foot o. His property. I would not retiurn to this property because of all of the above.

Great location and very well equipped. Escape to St Ives team very helpful and problems solved quickly. However, the cleanliness of the house was very mediocre with dirty towels found in one bedroom on arrival and one of the toilets needed fixing, which was done the next day. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Lovely property location good . Nice rooms only used three as only three adults were able to attend. Dig welcomed which is a bonus.
