About this house rental
The most exciting sea view unfolds before you, while you are laying in your bed, while having breakfast, while seating in the living room.. You are just in the middle of that big blue cycladic scenery!
A staircase inside our property will lead you to a beautiful small free beach, where you can enjoy pure and clear waters of the Aegean Sea. A bigger beach, called, Agios Sostis beach is also in a 3 min. walk from the house.
Our traditional house, constructed under the cycladic style in 1995 with eco-friendly materials -such as local stone, wood and marble- offers plenty of space and amenities for a comfortable stay for 4 up to 6 persons. It is an ideal place for families, couples or groups of friends who enjoy the rough landscape of Northern Mykonos and looking for a relaxing "feels like home" experience by the sea!
In 120 sq.m. divided in 2 levels, the house offers 2 bedrooms (1 master on the upper floor with full bathroom ensuite and 1 double on the ground floor), 2 bathrooms, living room-kitchen, furnished patios all around, BBQ and shaded parking. A comfortable sofa bed, that could host 2 extra guests in real mattress, is also placed in the living room.
The house comes with 2 furnished patios, one of them overlooking the sea. Our location can be affected by the wind, but in that case the southern patio will give you shelter.
There is free WiFi internet connection throughout, cable TV with cinema options, a small washing machine and dishwasher, iron, hair dryer and all linen and toiletry needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen is fully equipped. A set of retro design bluetooth speakers are also provided, so you can hear your music in your favourite spots all around the house and patios.
Only 7 km. from Mykonos Town (Chora) easily reached by car or scooter, Agios Sostis is a sparsely populated residential area, that has been protected for its natural beauty and still maintains the free and peaceful spirit of Mykonos island. It is the ideal place to relax by the sea, even in crowed August days. No loud bars or any other kind of stores are around. The only business of the area is famous Kiki's tavern, a little restaurant with fine tastes, sea view and excellent service in a relaxing ambient - don't miss having a meal there!
The closest super market and stores are in 10 min. drive, while beautiful Panormos beach lies in a 500 m. distance. Distance from the New Port and airport is also 7 km.

Please, have in mind that Mykonos often has strong winds, that are quite present in our area. This phenomenon is mostly happening during the first weeks of August.
You should also know that inside the property there is a detached studio (15 m. away from the main house). The studio might be rented to other guests, but there is privacy between the houses and their respective patios. Only shared premises are the shaded parking and the staircase to the beach.

We've spent one week of our three weeks vacations there and it was totally great time! We asked for self check-in and we've passed the process very smoothly. The house was exactly as we expected: spacious, well designed and decorated according to our taste. The fridge was full of basic food like eggs, milk, butter, cornflakes, cheese, bread, but also tidbits like honey, fruits, wine, juice,olives and the best cookies ever. We've been able to refresh ourselves very quickly and land on the most fantastic beach in a minute. It was a descent piece of land for almost private use. In the middle of high season maximum 8-10 people was there. Swimming and jumping to the water from the rock was fantastic even on windy days. Only the last day was shortened by the sudden invasion of gelly fish. On the down side: maybe the neighbourhood of unfinished construction, which is very close and dominating, but considering all the advantages of this amazing place you start to ignore and even accept it very soon. The true is that the house, the beach and absolutely unique owners, who took care of us will stay in our hearts for a long long time. Thank you Penelope and your amazing Mom!

Wonderful location of this lovely House. We enjoyed the privacy and quietness of the area, and to have almost a private beach, and the nice shaded lunch / diner area with such a unique view on the sea. Easy access to Chora with a car.

Wir verbrachten trotz der schweren Zeiten in ganz Europa bezüglich der Corona Pandemie einen traumhaften Urlaub in diesem wunderschönen Haus. Einsam und total ruhig konnten wir nicht nur das schöne Haus, sondern auch die private Bucht mit dem türkis blauen Meer genießen. In Kikis Taverne gleich um die Ecke schmeckte auch der Wein und das Essen vorzüglich. Rundum ein gelungener Urlaub.

Sehr schönes Haus an traumhafter Bucht und sehr nette Betreuung durch Eigentümerin.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Haus und haben uns wohl gefühlt. Die Fotos täuschen zwar ein bisschen, da man den Eindruck hat, dass das Haus recht einsam steht, was nicht der Fall ist (ein unbewohntes Häuschen befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe und eine größere Bauruine auf der anderen Seite), aber es war nicht störend. Der Privatweg zur Traumbucht war das Beste! Diesen Strand haben noch zwei andere Ferienanlagen genutzt (ebenfalls mit Privatweg), sodass man den Strand nur mit ein paar anderen Gästen (es waren nie mehr als 15 Personen) teilen musste. :-) Zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln ist die Bucht bestens geeignet.
Leider hatten wir Mitte Sept 4 sehr kräftige Sturmtage (mit ca. 40-70km Windböen), sodass wir an diesen Tagen den Strand und die Terrassen nicht nutzen konnten, da es zu stürmisch war und es ums Haus pfiff. Wegen seiner gehobenen Lage ist das Haus daher an Windtagen weniger ideal, aber an ruhigen Tagen ein absoluter Traum, mit tollem Blick aufs Meer!!
Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit der Besitzerin Penelope und ihrer Mutter. Sie waren jederzeit erreichbar und halfen, wo sie konnten. Auch war das Haus gut ausgestattet, es gab Klopapier etc., Blumen zur Begrüßung und auch ein paar Willkommenslebensmittel - das war schon sehr großzügig und ist eher selten sonst bei Ferienhäusern!
Leider hatten wir drei größere Stromausfälle (auf der Insel generell gab es partiell diese Ausfälle), was das erste Mal noch lustig war, dann aber nervte, da nichts mehr funktionierte (Kühlschrank etc.), auch auch kein Wasser mehr kam. Einmal waren wir mitten im Kochen, als es passierte. Wir haben Penelope daher nahegelegt, sich einen Generator für solche Fälle anzuschaffen und sie hat versichert, das tun zu wollen. Wenn der dann da ist, können wir das Haus wärmstens empfehlen. :-)
Das WLAN funktionierte ganz gut. Vom Flughafen sind es ca. 10-15 Min Fahrt. In die Stadt fährt man ebenfalls 15 Min.
Tipps:
Als Autovermietung empfehlen wir Enterprise. Sie haben zwar keinen extra Flughafenschalter, können aber zu Fuss in 3 Min erreicht werden und sind preislich attraktiv und sehr unkompliziert.
Die Supermärkte sind relativ teuer, aber haben eine gute Auswahl. Wir empfehlen die Restaurants auf dem Marktplatz in der Stadt Ano Mera und den Ausflug auf die Nachbarinsel Delos (sollte aber nicht zu windig sein wegen der Überfahrt, falls man da empfindlich ist).
