Paradise Matala Hotel

the location for the beach is great , just a 10 miniute walk, and nicley nestled on the hillside,it is still in a fairly quiet area of undeveloped Matala , with only a couple of other properties nearby, so its quiet . Breakfast was extra( 7 euro i think ) with the usual Greek spread, plus a small selection of hot food( eggs,bacon etc) plenty of fresh juice,fruit and coffee. Clean and nice sized rooms, with aircon ( no extra cost) and a small balcony with chairs & table, tea/coffee making fascilities, fridge and TV ( though i could not get anything on the TV ) Bed was comfy - no problem sleeping small clean bathroom, hot water is solar powered, so dont leave it until too late , but its that hot outside , a cooler shower is refreshing👍 Staff are friendly , they have a big Alsatian dog, but its super friendly, and getting on in years. good sized swimming pool at the rear , plenty of free parking outside. 2nd time i have stayed , and is now my preferred choice when staying in Matala.

only down side, is i did book 1 large double bed, as being over 6ft tall , i tend to like a bigger bed to spread out in, but i was given a twin room with 2 single beds, i did not raise the issue with the management as it was right at the time of the Music Festival, so any rooms, anywhere were at a premium, i did sleep ok, just would have liked a bigger bed 😁😁

Location was great, 5-10 minute walk to the beach and main shopping streets. Pool was great and staff were friendly. Could hardly believe how affordable the hotel was.

Great location. Easy 5-10 min walk to beach, tavernas etc. Less than 5 min walk to main bus stop. Nice and quiet. Nice little pool. George and his staff were great.
