About this cottage rental
Akassa consists of 4 “bioclimatic designer loft-style country homes.” Each of our lofts is independent, and we also have a fifth home or loft with a kitchen.
Each of our lofts has two floors. The upper floor features a bedroom with an XXL double bed, and the lower floor has a living room, two single beds, a bathroom, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a teapot. An extra bed is available for an additional fee.
We also have a separate loft or cottage with a kitchen that will remain open for guests who wish to use it. In this space, to ensure complete safety, all kitchenware—pots, pans, glasses, cutlery, dishcloths, scouring pads, etc.—is stored individually and kept separate exclusively for each of our guests; similarly, each guest’s outdoor furniture will be clearly labeled.
We also have a protocol for kitchen use ensuring that only one family uses it at a time, which guarantees complete safety for our guests.
We also have over 3,000 m² of land surrounded by pine, olive, and cherry trees.
Since we prioritize health and well-being, prior to our opening we conducted a comprehensive disinfection using hydrogen peroxide fogging, carried out by the specialized company Bio Plantel and supervised by its chief biologist and the Provincial Council of Cáceres. Akassa is firmly committed to risk management, leading the implementation of a comprehensive protocol and contingency plan. Our primary goal is to create a safe environment for both guests and staff at all times. This risk management is integrated into all processes at our property—involving both suppliers and guests—from before the guest’s arrival, through check-in, during their stay, at check-out, and during cleaning. These processes are coordinated by a management committee, which in turn has two managers responsible for its oversight.
We take extreme precautions regarding cleaning and safety for both our guests and our staff, following the guidelines of the ICTE (Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality) approved by the Government of Spain in the “measures to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus-2 for rural accommodations.” We will also supplement these with other measures that provide an extra layer of safety for guests, such as the use of ozone, fogging, or both; we only use virucides authorized by the Ministry of Health against COVID-19. We also comply with the protocol and have obtained the Safe & Healthy seal. These measures may result in a later check-in time; therefore, effective immediately, check-in will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Due to the “new normal,” we do not accept pets
A sense of safety need not conflict with guest enjoyment. Therefore, each cottage will have its own outdoor furniture, spaced at least 7–14 meters apart. If our property were fully booked, each guest would have a minimum of 187 m² of space
We have also implemented contactless check-in, payment, and check-out, streamlining the entire arrival and departure process.
We’ve partnered with local restaurants so they can offer food pickup services if our guests need them, and supermarkets can also deliver groceries to them.
Our region is home to a large number of natural pools, natural swimming holes, reservoirs, water spouts, waterfalls, and meandering streams. We’ve also created an app that uses geolocation to pinpoint various natural swimming holes in uncrowded areas.
We are an ecotourism accommodation. We adhere to the ecotourism principles outlined in the “Québec Declaration on Ecotourism” and the “International Ecotourism Standard.” Our facilities are seamlessly integrated into nature, surrounded by pine, olive, and cherry trees, and we strive to minimize our environmental impact. For this reason, we have been awarded the “Sustainable Tourism Award—Rural Tourism and Sustainability” (Fitur 2020, Regional Government of Extremadura)
We also offer about 30 different activities focused on personal development, such as yoga and aeroyoga, as well as boat tours, mystery tours, paddleboarding, and 4x4 tours throughout the area. For all of this, we were also awarded the “Best Nature Retreat in Spain Award” (Travel & Hospitality Awards, United Kingdom 2020)
