About this cabin rental

The Cottage is a almost new cabin in the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio, close to Chesterhill, OH. We love the quiet countryside where we can get away from the busyness of living. There are trails to walk and a ridge with a great view.
Sitting on a scenic hill, the Cottage in Morgan County has a view that few others can surpass. One mile North of Chesterhill, OH, close to Athens and McConnelsville. Luxury accommodations in a peaceful setting, with 32 acres to enjoy (Antler Ridge Cabin is on the same property). Hiking, bird watching, relaxation and fresh country air are just a few of the benefits. Loft bedroom, with a queen bed and 4 twin beds give room for 6. Gas Franklin stove/fireplace, AC, fully equipped kitchen, full bath with shower, Smart TV/DVD player, washer & dryer. Large porch with gas grill, table, chairs and bench. Outdoor fire pit, firewood provided. Get away from the busyness and listen to the quiet, absorb the peace. The Cottage is close to the road, so there is some traffic noise.
Bed linens and towels, coffee, tea are furnished. No smoking in cabin.

Free WiFi. It is not always connecting well. Usually good, but we don't make promises. Verizon cell service is pretty good, more so on the porch.
We suggest getting groceries before you arrive. A few groceries, pizza, subs, gas, etc. available in Chesterhill. McConnelsville has a variety of restaurants and unique shopping and historic places. Athens is a college town, 30 minutes away.
Our cozy cottage is close to The Wilds (45min), Wolf Creek Wildlife Area, Muskingum River, AEP Recreation Lands, covered bridges, Amish community, and many species of wildlife, especially deer and turkey.
You will love The Cottage at Antler Ridge for a romantic weekend or a week of vacation with your family. All the amenities of home in a peaceful setting will help relieve stress and give you a new appreciation for the Creator and the created.

Lovely spot in southeast Ohio for a quiet getaway…Nice little wood cabin on a large property. My partner and I had a nice relaxing long weekend stay.Pros: quaint, has all basic amenities, adjacent to nature, quiet & relatively private, includes firewood for firepit and wood stove heater.Cons: cabin is very close to the main road (takes away from the tranquility of the property), beds were not super comfortable.

Was looking for a cabin that was away from all the noise on the 4th of July. Heard a little bit of noise off in the distance but barely. Definitely more of a hunting lodge, with nice tree stands close by. The beds having no frame is a little uncomfy but all in all was a great stay If you are looking to get away in the middle of nowhere.

Darling cabin, well kept, pretty pastoral views. We loved the beds all being in the loft together, providing a family sleepover environment, which is what we needed! Hosts were always quick to respond. A great little place for some nice family time. I would note: we found lots of ticks on us, so be vigilant. Also, the road was pretty near to the house, and the traffic was loud and frequent. For planning purposes, the kitchen was fairly well stocked, but missing some things that we needed (for example, a cutting board), so I would bring items if your cooking depended on it! Glad we stayed and would return!

It had a beautiful view of the hills and the trails were peaceful to walk on. The cabin was cozy and clean. It was nice that they offered firewood for no extra charge. We were able to enjoy a fire each night we were there. The only thing we had a problem with was the low water preasure on the shower.

This is an absolutely wonderful cabin, everything was as advertised! And boy was it ever clean!! The views from the front covered deck were terrific, and the kitchen was fully outfitted. There was a little bit of road noise, but nothing too bad, it did mean we had to keep a much closer eye on our 30 pound cockapoo. Great fire pit, free wood, an actual yard with landscaping. This was a beauty. Could use a tad bit more water pressure in the shower. But no doubt we will return.

More items/amenities then even described in the description. Super helpful! owners were wonderful - super responsive and helpful with any questions that we had. The cabin is lovely and well maintained. It's very rural, which we liked. Loved the view from the porch and the firepit. The interior is beautiful with lots of wood. The stairs to the loft are steep, so those with mobility issues should be aware. Cabin is well appointed. Owner very responsive to any questions. This cabin was perfect for our needs.

We made a trip to the cabin for a chance to get away and decompress. It did not disappoint! The place was exceptionally clean and well stocked. The view was spectacular and we spent most of the time on the covered porch. Temperature control in the cabin was easy to regulate and took about an hour to bring to to a comfortable temp (70F) upon checkin but on cooler or less humid days it will surely take less. The upstairs loft with beds was exactly as it appeared in the pictures. There were only 2 of us, so we opted for the queen bed. All 5 of the beds are sitting directly on the floor. We knew this going in and were not surprised. However, we had forgotten how that could lead to a restless nights sleep as its been quite some time since eithe rof us have been in college or a bunk house. Again, not unexpected because the pictures reflected this, just a bygone memory. Do yourself a favor and have dinner at the Chatterbox in McConnelsville. Highly recommended! Food, patrons and staff were amazing. Triple Nickle breakfast in Chesterhill is top notch and nearby!

We would stay again in a heartbeat, but we have realized we may need to be looking for no stairs between the bedroom and the bathroom. Age has a way of doing this. This cabin was beautiful and very relaxing.
