At the water, maritime furnished apartment, private entrance, with scaffolding

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was beautiful. The apartment was immaculately clean and like new. The main bed was comfy and the sofa bed in the lounge was a large single bed with a pull out second single trundle bed which fit our teenagers well. The communication with the manager was great and they were super responsive and helpful. There’s a cooktop and dishwasher (but no oven). Fly screens on all windows The village itself is beautiful and there’s a decent size supermarket a 10 min walk away. We initially caught the train to Amsterdam, then the metro to Amsterdam Nord, then a bus to Monnickendam. Be aware that the buses to Monnickendam are run by a different company (EBS) than are covered by the usual Amsterdam travel card which is for travel on GVB buses/metro/trams. We’d presumed we’d be needing the metro whilst we were there and paid for a 2 day card, but it was a waste because we only took one metro initially then discovered there was an EBS bus directly to/ from Monnickendam to Amsterdam Central. We also went to Volendam and rented bikes and followed a proposed bike route as advised by “rent & event” where we saw beautiful farmland, a cheese making demo and cows being milked, cheese tasting, a clog shop and a windmill. We then came back to the Volendam village and had great takeaway fish and chips at “De Lunch” and amazing waffles and strop waffle at “woltje’s backerij” Only negatives: no spare blankets - was cold. Was loud music on Saturday night.

Fantastic property and a very very quaint neighborhood. Restaurants are a short walk and the bus to Amsterdam is only 20 minutes. One of the cleanest properties I've ever visited.

Gorgeous views and lovely village. The flat was modern and had every amenity.

Very comfortable accomodation on a quiet channel, with a wonderful view of the old harbour. The apartment is well furnished, clean and optimally located for visiting, with a short trip, some main Holland towns. In this way, the apartment perfectly joins the quiet life of country and sea side with the exciting Amsterdam's atmosphere! The staff has a friendly and professional attitude. Highly recommended!
