A very warm welcome, a very clean and comfortable property with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. The pools and outside areas were fantastic and the children loved them. A beautiful quiet area with well stocked supermarkets nearby. Highly recommend this property.

We were originally a group of 9, but two couldn't make it so we were 7. There was so much space that we never felt on top of each other. The property was very well equipped with all appliances and facilities as accurately described in the listing. Matthew responded quickly to all our pre-stay queries and met us on arrival and gave a tour of the property. We spent a lot of time in the indoor pool and sauna as well as the kichen, that's very large. The pool table was a great success with many tournaments! The upstairs was considerably hotter than downstairs, although it was 34 degrees! We moved the fans around, but if you're going when it's hot, take some additional personal fans with you for upstairs. The outdoor seating is plentiful and comfortable and the small outdoor pool a welcome cooling off place in the heat. We used the bbq twice which had charcoal and firelighters provided which was greatly appreciated. We chose to use some portable bbq's, topped up with the charcoal provided as these were easily disposable and saved us from cleaning the bbq. The location is pleasantly rural and quiet with easy access to the local town via a 5 minute drive for a pharmacies, small supermarket and boulanger. There is also an artisan cheese shop within a few minutes walk. We dined 3 times in Avranches and St Hilaire in reasonably priced and very good restaurants. Matthew was helpful with recommendations and booking. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxed break and we would

The property was as described and the owner welcomed us on arrival, showing us around and explaining various bits of equipment. Unobtrusively cleaning and maintaining the water features regularly during the week. Lots of different seating areas to catch the sun/shade. The building is a converted barn so there is no sound barrier in the general living quarters-so with 10 people watching TV, listening to music, gaming, talking, it can get a bit noisy -but that is for the occupiers to sort out! The property is a bit isolated with limited facilities in the nearby village-small general store, bakery and tabac. During our stay the tabac was closed and the bakery closed for the 2 end weeks of August. Both the 2 nearest main towns -St Hilaire and Avranches were worth visiting and contained the usual Supermarches. The beaches were about an hours drive and well worth visiting. Best avoided is Mont St Michel--unless you love crowds--keep this for an out of season visit! In conclusion we enjoyed our stay (5adults/4 children) anc can happily recommend this property.

Owners were v friendly and helpful. However, the gite was disappointing. The upstairs got really hot and if you opened the windows to help cool it down the flies came in. The fly trap light in the kitchen didn’t really work so most meals were spent trying to swat away the flies. The indoor pool was a great hit with the kids but the water seemed quite murky and the indoor pool decor was v dark so it wasn’t a nice place to sit. The bed covers were synthetic and made you sweat. It would make a big difference to have cotton bedding. The location of the gite was brilliant. Near enough to all the local attractions including Bayeux, Mont St Michel and St Malo, and the surrounding countryside is stunning. Could be a really nice place to stay with some adjustments.

Three grandchildren, parents and grandparents all found this a great place to stay. The indoor and outdoor pools were a success with all generations and the pool table was popular in the evening. Matthew and Vicky were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The house provided a great setting for a very successful family holiday. Cannot praise to highly.

Great rental for a family!
Great rental for a family!
My children and I rented this house for a week in July to act as a home base while we toured Northern France. The house was great and so were our hosts. There is plenty of room for a larger group and the kitchen was perfect for serving home cooked meals. The home is quite spacious and also has a great upstairs TV room and pool table. The two pools were a hit with my kids - especially the larger indoor pool. Matthew, Vicky, and Jan were wonderful hosts. Matt and Vicky were excellent with the upfront communication and Jan (who lives next store) was fabulous once we arrived. The town itself is quite small but has a grocery store. Additionally there is a much larger store in a town 15 minutes away. We loved the quiet location of the farm house. It also proved a great base from which to tour Northern France. You are 45 minutes away from Mont St-Michelle and maybe 75 minutes from the D-Day beaches. The house met all our needs and we couldn't ask of nicer hosts. I would love to come back one year for Christmas!

Most amazing family holiday ever!
Most amazing family holiday ever!
We are just travelling back from France via ferry and are all discussing that this was the best family holiday yet. The property is stunning inside and out and was a huge hit with 3 generations of the family. Beautiful bedrooms and the kitchen is extremely spacious, a lot of time was spent in there around the table in the evening after mealtime. The indoor and outdoor pools are great for all ages and there is a nice grassed area for playing games (boules and badminton mainly for us). If you like games (adult and child) there is a good range including pool table, decks of cards and a lovely wooden zoo set which the kids had hours of fun with. If you visit don't miss sitting out on the balcony as the view is outstanding. Local amenities are a nice walk (or drive) away and the village is really pretty. Last but not least a massive thanks to the hosts who made it all happen!
