About this cottage rental
Restored and modernised, the house is in a quiet village and makes a comfortable base from which to explore the beautiful Vendee. The house, awarded 3 epis and 4 stars for comfort and charm, is situated in the quiet village of St Michel le Cloucq, 5 kms from Fontenay le Comte, 50 kms from La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic.
Within an hours drive of our cottage are the sandy beaches of the Vendée, including La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, Les Sables d'Olonne and La Tranche sur Mer. If you want a change of pace then the tranquil setting of the Marais Poitevin, with its Venise Verte waterways are just 20 minutes away. For kids of all ages the Futuroscope theme park is an hour away near Poitiers, and for the adults the famous Cognac houses are within easy reach for tours and tastings. The history adventure park at Puy du Fou opens a fantastic new attraction.

The property is in a quite location with good parking. The host Chantel is friendly, accommodating and speaks English.The property is clean, well looked after, well-equipped spacious and comfortable. Comprising of a living room, kitchen diner, two double bedrooms and a bedroom with two single beds suitable for children.Outside there is a spacious garden, a barbecue and outdoor eating and sitting area.The location is away from villages and amenities but ideal for a quite getaway and to explore the Vendee.

Chantal was a delightful owner who lived next door and was most helpful whenever needed.
Had multi channel tv so able to watch QE II funeral in English. Spacious character accommodation with two sitting out areas. Welcome “pack” with cake, coffee and tea with other extras provided. Most enjoyable stay in an area with many charming villages and historic abbeys.

Ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für ruhige Erholung und Erkundung der vielfältigen Umgebung. Das Ferienhaus ist gemütlich und gut eingerichtet, die Küche (wie üblich ohne Gewürze u.ä.) ungewöhnlich gut ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin ist reibungslos und unkompliziert; sie hat alle Fragen und Probleme sofort gelöst. Ausserdem hat mir ihre große Diskretion gefallen.

Easily booked plus Chantal Blais was very quick at responding to questions I had. Lovely gite with plenty of space. Can easily accommodate 6 people, 2 being children, and was very well equipped. Situated in a very quiet village with no shops, it was necessary to have a car to get supplies, etc. Chantal was very helofuk and was able to speak to us in English, and was gappy to gelo us soeak French. Very enjoyable experience.
