About this house rental
This refurbished gite is a great place to relax with friends and family amidst an elegant French country ambiance. The gite makes a perfect hideaway for a romantic break or a luxurious self catering holiday for up to 6 people.
The private drive leads to the gite, and beyond to a barn, in front of which is ample parking. The property offers very spacious open plan living. It is well appointed and comprises a fully equipped kitchen and dining area with seating for up to eight persons. There is a gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine a larder cupboard with general store cupboard ingredients, iron and ironing board. The large comfortable lounge has views to the beautiful garden and pool area. There are two 3 seater sofas, armchairs and occasional tables with lamps, large flat screen satellite TV (English), DVD, video, stereo CD player, WiFi access, games and books. In the lounge, for the cooler winter months there is a Woodburning stove. There is also a library of over 150 dvd's with all the latest films. Patio doors from the lounge open to the pool area. Also from the lounge there is a staircase going down to 3 double bedrooms (1 with king double bed and 2 with twin beds). The master bedroom has French doors opening on to a secluded private garden with views to Monclar and the surrounding hills. Bed linen and towels are provided, but not pool towels. There is a large bathroom with walk-in shower/wet room, wc and wash hand basin.
There is a charcoal barbecue with tools etc. Sun loungers, tables and brollies.
We offer a tranquil setting ideal for relaxation. The private pool is refreshing on a hot summer day and the surrounding terrace is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing.
Within a short drive of the gite you can enjoy some of the pretty Bastide villages such as Monpazier, Eymet, Monflanquin, visiting their squares and Chateaus and weekly markets with wonderful displays of the local produce.
This is a region rich in flavour, with many restaurants. Discover the beautiful products of the South West.
Situated in the South West of France the area is renowned for its outstanding beauty, history and cultural heritage, as well as it superior wines and culinary delights.
Within a short drive you can paddle a canoe down the river, take part in vineyard tours and visit different farmers markets every day of the week. You can also hire bicycles on a daily basis in the village at reasonable rates.
A table tennis table is provided for your enjoyment.
Travel: Bordeaux Airport is one and a half hours away, as is Toulouse.
Bergerac is only 45 minutes drive and low costs airlines such as Ryanair operate from many UK airports.

A friend recommended this gite to us and it looked great online so we were amazed to find it even better in real life!The gite is large, beautiful, spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need.It is so lovely to have the bedrooms downstairs - you can feel the coolness as you go down the stairs in the evening.The pool is beautiful and for your sole use. It’s was a fabulous way to cool off and even though my children are in their twenties, it still provided lots of fun and relaxation.We had never visited this area before and had expected it to be quite like the Dordogne - however it is quite different. It felt more ‘real’ as in it is not at all ‘touristy’. We still found lots to do - visiting a local swimming lake, canoeing along the River Lot, visiting the local night market and enjoying general wanderings around local areas and towns.We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending a stay here and am pretty sure we’ll return someday.Thank you Helen and Peter for being fabulous hosts - close to hand whenever we had a question but equally leaving us to our privacy.We had a wonderful time!

The property was excellent as were the hosts Helen and Peter. They could not do enough to ensure that we settled in and were aware of comfortable. The information on the gite and how it worked was comprehensive. The gite is very well maintained with excellent facilities. The pool was superb and Peter cleaned it every morning.
We had a fantastic time and cannot fault the gite in any way.

Propriété calme. Maison spacieuse, agréable et propre. Grande piscine bien entretenue, tout comme le jardin.
Propriétaires adorables et discrets, qui ont su être réactifs et efficaces face au problème d'humidité malheureusement apparu dans une chambre au rdc (pb réglé).
Merci encore à Peter & Helen pour leur gentillesse, leur disponibilité et leur humour :).

Merci à Helen et Peter pour leur accueil. Mention spéciale pour l’extraordinaire propreté et entretien de leur maison, jardin et piscine. La maison est très agréable avec l’accès direct à la piscine. Tout est de qualité et la vaisselle est bien fournie. Bonne literie également, nous n’avons manqué de rien et la région est pleine de choses variées à faire. Très jolis marchés, balades en canoë et visites de grottes. Merci pour ce séjour de qualité.
